Points: 693.80 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 693.80 | Costs of Ovulation Induction in the UK? Hi Ladies,
I'm currently living in Australia but will hopefully be moving back home to the UK this July. I'm about to start going down the ovulation induction route and the doctor has suggested the FSH injections (Puregon). Can someone please advise of the costs in the UK per month for this type of program. Also, how much is it for a consultation etc. Basically as much information as possible would be greatly appreciated.
I think it's much cheaper over here in Oz, but I've been here for four years now and am really looking forward to moving back to spend more time with family and friends. If it's much cheaper here, then maybe I should stay?
Thanks for your help. |

If you are paying i think its around £1000 but dont quote me on that as it depends on the individual clinics prices, how much medications etc you will need. Have you had laparoscopy or hsg? as some clinics like you to have this first. Ive heard that treatment is cheaper in austrailia so you should defintly compare prices before making a descion.
Whereabouts in england will you be living? if you could contact a few clinics near to where you will be and get their advice and idea of prices, im in scotland and theres not many around here (im with NHS at the mo)
You should also enquire if it will be a straight swapover of your medical notes in austrailia to england or whether they would want to to any specific tests back here as these kind of unexpected setbacks can postpone your treatment even further
hope this helps, good luck

Points: 693.80 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 693.80 | Thanks for everyone's help. Not sure where we'll be living yet, it depends on where hubby can get a job. Probably north somewhere. I'm english so will be able to access the NHS, thank god! Good idea to call some clinics at home though. I have had an hsg and before we move, I'll definitely make sure that I can copies of all my results etc. so that I don't have to go through it all again! Off to see the specialist tomorrow, so we'll see what more he has to say about our next steps. Thanks again |

Then it costs £160 for 9 days of injections. 9 days worth per cycle is the minimum you would need. It's possible to need 28 injections in a cycle. I'm in Oxfordshire though so I don't know if different primary care trusts charge differently. Let me know if you want to know anything else about it.
