Question Could additional vitamin B6 be responsible for this?

Hi all. I started taking additional vitamin B6 this cycle to help lengthen my luteal phase, as it was pretty short on previous cycles (10-12 days max). It did help to lengthen it (to 16 days). Anyway, since I started taking it, I've noticed I've been having joint pain, specifically my knees, and the rest of my joints just feel almost swollen, kind of tight when I move around. I attributed it to doing a little extra yardwork and just a little more activity than I'm used to doing. I haven't done any exorbitant amount of extra activity this past weekend, and my knees are so sore and achy, it hurts to get up from sitting, and standing for an extended period of time is out of the question. I've always had a bum left knee from a high school Marching Band injury that gives me a little trouble on stairs or when it's rainy (kind of like an arthritis ache)...but nothing like the pain I've been in lately. The only thing I have changed is taking the extra vitamin B6. I took one 50mg tablet every day, in addition to the amount that's in my prenatal vitamin. Has anyone heard of this causing joint pain? Could this possibly be the reason? I don't really want to stop taking it since it worked so well to lengthen my LP...but I also don't want to be possibly overdosing or doing more damage than good. Could I possibly be allergic to it? But I would think that I would have had some sort of reaction with the B6 in my prenatals, wouldn't you think? Ok, sorry so long...just wondering if anyone had had a similar problem or could offer any advice??? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't think it's the B6. A deficiency in it can cause joint pain but then more B6 is the treatment. Your dose seems very safe.

I had a problem recently with my knees where they started feeling very stiff, swollen and sore, especially when I would bend them fully to squat down or sit cross-legged. I would wake up limping until I got a hot shower. It progressed gradually in the first 6 months after I moved to a 2-story house and I blamed it on going up and down the stairs constantly. I finally mentioned it to my chiropractor and he did some adjustments in my knees, hips, and pubic bone over a few weeks and now my knees are fine. The first adjustment didn't hold so next time he put tape around my kneecap for a few days. It wasn't the stairs after all.

...... So you might want to visit a chiropractor or doctor about it.

BTW congrats on a longer LP!

B6 is a water soluble vitamin, so basically.. any excess in your system is flushed out - literally

As for your achy joints.. have you noticed any other symptoms? Redness or warmth? Is it fairly symmetrical (roughly the same amount of swelling in both knees)? I'd go see your doc if this continues..
