I took Prometrium for 12 days and 3 days later I started. However, it is a light flow of brown (like discharge). Is this considered a period. I have heard unless it is a red flow, it is just spotting. I have been on Metformin since April and no cycle. I have been waiting 11 months for this day.

What do you think? Any advice?

Is it still going on? It may be AF. It usually takes me about 2 days of spotting to get AF. (Nice to have the warning signal!) I wonder what your estrogen levels look like? Maybe you're not making enough estrogen to really build the endometrium to support a heavy AF. If it continues more than 2 days I'd count it.

No, not really. Just a spot here and there. I'm going to call the doctor and ask her what she thinks.
