Default Could I have PCOS?

Hi Everyone...I'm new here...it has come up in conversation with my doctor that I may have PCOS. I am in the process of having blood work done...my question is simply this....Could I have PCOS?

I am 27 and recently stopped taking Ovcon35 (BCPs) after almost 10 years of continuous use...I have been off the pill for 6 months, and in that time I have gotten my period 3x...first cycle was 42 days, next cycle 56, this last cycle 65...I can tell though by my body that I have ovulated all 3 cycles....after measuring my BBT this past cycle learned that O was on day 49, with a 15 day luteal phase...I have next to no acne (very good skin all over), no excessive hair growth, and as far as I know right now (before blood work) only one PCOS symptom - irregular cycles...

This is so frustrating to me because my husband and I have decided after 2 years of marriage that we are ready to start a family...as long as I am ovulating on my own, even if it is day 49, can I get pregnant? I've been making myself crazy over all of this...sorry this is so long, I'm just venting....Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome.
First of all, take this with great assault as I am not a doctor. Your body may need more time to get regular. 10 years is a LONG time to be on pills that basically prevented you from ovulating. I would just give it some more time. Perhaps another 6-18 months. I've read in PCOS and Your Fertility by Colette Harris on page 26, that the majority of women in a study delivered a baby 30 months after coming off the pill. This lets us know that there are women for whom it may take longer to conceive and give birth. Good luck!
