Default could it be the Met??

I have been having EXTREME fatigue for the past few weeks (started Met on Dec 17, worked my way up to 1500 in 3 weeks) I get 8-10 hours of sleep a night, but I'm just exhausted all day!!! Could the Met be causing this? Anyone else expirience this? Any tips (besides sleep all day, that would be nice! but not do-able!!)

Hi!
I was also extremely tired when I first started Met. I actually dosed up much more slowly than you did. I took 10 weeks to get to 1500mg. I noticed though, that each time I increased, I would get a bout of fatigue. It never lasted too long though, maybe 2 days each time.

A few Cysters here have recommended B12 supplements to help with fatigue. I guess the Met interferes with B12 absorption, and low B12 can affect energy levels.

I take a hefty dose of B vitamins every day and I feel great now, better than I can ever remember feeling.

HTH. Good Luck!

Amanda

I had the same problem when I upped my dose of met. I told my doc and he put me on 500mg xr met and I have not had the nasty side effects. I guess I will ask him to up it to 1000 when it's time to refill.

Smile Yes its the MET- Take your B's

Yes the Met totally makes me and my sister feel exausted. Met can deplete your B vitamins.
Head over to Wal-Mart ( or which ever place you like) and pick up some Super B complex for $6. You will feel your energy go way up within hours or at least I did. You could just take b-12 but my Dr says most ladies are lacking in all the B vitamins from the kind of food we eat and how it is grown and processed. Why not take them all at once?
One tip dont take the Bs late in the day or you will be up full all night. It really works that good!

ADJ- The Met ER does have less side effects but I have found it to be far less effective than the ER version even at 2000mg. I hope it works out for you.

thanks! I've taken b-12 for the past few days, no difference (I also take prenatals, but not at the same time, as the body can only absorb the vitamins it needs and eliminates those it has no current use for) I'll try some b-complex next!

ladysmokeater~ glad the fatigue went away with the change in bcp! I'm not on bcp due to family Hx of breast cancer (and the fact we're TTC)
