 Couldn't do BCP?
I've wondered for a long time if this is PCOS related. Okay, so when I was 17 I went on ortho tricyclen to control the horror. I'd been having periods off and on since 14 (mostly off though for quite awhile--like every 3 months). So fairly certain I wasn't ovulating to that point. Then I started getting deathly ill every time. BCP made it better awhile, then symptoms returned, new pain, breakthrough bleeding, everything. My doc just kept switching me from one pill to another. Sometimes they worked briefly.
I married 6 years after starting BCP and by that time was having serious pelvic pains. Went off BCP, no AF for like 2 years. This is when they started putting everything together and informed me I was anti-ovulatory. THEN, I had a lap, and pics of my ovaries revealed I *had* ovulated in the past. HUH? So, BCP didn't really do anything for me, but I ovulated on it, then quit off it?
Has this happened to anyone else? I've always wanted to know!
