Hi ALL, I have just recently been diagnosed. I live in Rural NSW. I'm a long way from my doctor and am finding it difficult to have my questions answered and to find understanding amongst family and friends. I'm so happy to have found this site.

I'm a little scared as I am going into hospital soon and I don't know what to expect or how long it will take to recover and what will happen afterwards.

HAs anyone got some suggestions on getting thru this time?

Hi FionaT
welcome aboard. You have come to the right place. You will find lots of info here and everyone is always there with a ear to listen. Is the hospital visit POCS related? Hope all goes well with it anyway. The best advise in getting support from friends and family is inform yourself and explain it to them. The more they know the more they can show support.
good luck and see you around the board

I think you are right. It sort of is, the doctor wants to get some tissue samples and a curet (sp?), i really don't know much about it which doesn't help. Where abouts are you, in OZ? Have you hade POCS for long?

Teeg,

I'm in Northern NSW I'm living in a little bitty place called Cryon which is about 45km's south west of Walgett.
I'm currently working in Armidale, so this is where i'm having the tests and things done. It will be much harderin a few weeks as my work here will be finished.
I agree about the nightmare it is. Although so common. My friend said this morning that all i need to do is find david beckham and i could have kids since posh spiced managed!!!

I'm feeling very fatigued at the moment. Stress i dare say. How is the weather up your way? We are desperate for rain.

Hi Fiona!!! Welcome to Soul Cysters...it's great here! I have just moved to Brisbane from Roma (South West QLD) so I know exactly what you are going through in terms of isolation from dr's and info. I have to say I have learnt most things about PCOS from this very site....so you're in the right place!!
I was really lucky that I had a very inderstanding GP in Roma who put me on the right path. How old are you? Are you TTC? Would love to hear from you some more. You can e-mail me directly or PM me if you like.
Take Care
Amy

PS
I bet things are looking pretty grim down your way weather wise at the moment. Looks the same in rural Qld. My husband is a Grain Trader and they are selling so much grain for stock feed at the moment all over Qld and NSW.
PPS
Good game of footy last night wasn't it??????? He He He....sorry just had to put that in !!!!

Default FOOTY & STUFF

Well, I worked till 10pm so i missed the game, but All i have to say is it ain't over yet!! They were discussing it on the radio yesterday and they are trying to get crowds together for the last game...watch out the cockroashes are going to be on fire!!!

Amy, I'm 23 and not trying to have a baby, although my insensisitive other half (we are not married) thinks it would be a good idea to try then if i fall pregs abort so that we can rest assured that in the future it's an option, because he wants to have kids and he wants a wife that will give them to him. REDNECK springs to mind. Like this isn't hard enough as it is. I only found out on tuesday and already he wants me to be a science experiment. I'm really pissed at him at the moment. Thinking of escaping and going to Brisvegas for the long weekend. Hope the weather stays sunny.

Unhappy

Holy Crap! I can't believe your boyfriend wants you to try to get pregnant and then abort!!!!!! That is seriously sad. Luckily there are a number of tests you can do other than have to use those drastic measures. Maybe an escape for the weekend would be a good idea!! Can't guarantee sunny weather here though, it has been overcast and raining most of the week.
I can't believe your partner's reaction to your diagnosis!!!!!! Do you think he's in shock, or really scared....or is he really and truly just a redneck?? I hope it's one of the first 2 options. You really need to be supported at the moment. Anyway, I'd best keep going. Take Care.
Amy

PS
At least the 3rd game will be interesting now!!! Don't know if I should watch it though.....could bring on premature labour !

Amy,
Amy,

No i don't think he is a redneck really. I'm sure it's a case of shocked and scared. Things between us have just come good after a rocky phase and this is a set back neither of us expected. B/c im in A'dale at the moment we haven't had the chance to talk in person yet. I still haven't told him that the growth on my cervix may be cancer and that things aren't getting better. But i don't know how to tell him now. Especially when we really need to talk and he is letting me down. Which is making it harder for me to be open and facilitating.

Eek.

I hope the weather clears up. I might just make it there tomorrow. Have some good old friends in brissy that i haven't seen for an age. This might be a good opportunity.

What are the test to which you refer? I'll be able to get more info from the doc next time i see her as i'll be more prepared and i know have more questions.

wrt your husband and grain trading, now would be a good time to buy and stick a place if it had a bit of feed. cattle are cheap as chips up here. We've got 4.5 thousand head going thru the yards today when normally we only get 2.

Thank god.....I'm pleased he's not a redneck. It can be really scary for the boys when they find out the reality of PCOS because it is something they can't control. We have certainly had some pretty heartbreaking moments due to infertility....but look at us now...5 weeks away from meeting our bub. Don't give up!
I'm so sorry to hear about the growth in your cervix. I hope everything is ok. The good news is that medical technology is wonderful now and treatments are so advanced. Hopefully you won't have to get to anything like that though. When do you find out if the growth is cancerous or not??? You must be feeling sick about it.
The tests I am talking about are basically hormonal test to see whether you are ovulating. A lot of women with PCOS don't ovulate and so clomid is taken to bring it on. I have been through this process and would be happy to tell you about my experience if it would help. You can e-mail me directly amyw75@iprimus.com.au rather than keep adding to this post if you like.

Speaking of cattle, we are about to buy some ourselves and put them on a feedlot for a fast turnover...hopefully make a bit of cash!
Talk to you soon
Amy
