hi,
could someone please answer these couple of questions for me please?
Before i had my hysterectomy my gynocologist said he suspected i had pcos (but didnt do a definete diagnosis)
i have just had a blood test taken to check my hormone levels (not progesterone as that was ok) will that tell them if i have pcos ? and if so how?
and my other question is i am having an ultrasound done of my ovaries
(left behind when i had my hysterectomy) and possibly also a vaginal one will that tell them if i have pcos also?
im sorry if i sound dumb but i want to know if they are doing the right investigations as they wont refer me to an endocrinologist unless the investigations can establish that im suffering from pcos even tho i have a lot of the signs mentioned on this site and i myself am sure it is what i am suffering from.
can anyone suggest any other things that may be needed to get a definete diagnosis?

The blood tests that I had done didn't clearly show PCOS. However, they were odd enough for the doctor to send me for an Ultrasound because I displayed a lot of other symptoms.

It was the ultrasound that finally convinced the doctor that I had PCOS as there were cysts on my ovaries.

However, everyone is different. One thing that you will learn from this site is that PCOS effects everyone differently!
