Alright, so I went in this morning to talk to the nurse about giving myself injections for Byetta. Now, I am getting nervous. She says that I have to give it in my abdomen. She also mentioned eating after I take it. I thought I had read somewhere that you had to take it an hour before you eat.
Send me some courage and help!

I think you could inject it anywhere there is fat? Such as thigh, back of arms, etc? That is how insulin is. There's a thread somewhere with several Byetta cysters--if you search you can probably bring it up. Sorry to not be more help. Personally, if it would work for me (and I had found nothing else that had) I'd inject it in my eye 10x a day!

You don't need any courage - it's fine. It's no big deal. I've been doing it for a month now. I inject it into my belly and it was weird at first but now I'm used to it. It has cut my appetite in half. You do it before breakfast and dinner and you eat within an hour of taking it. If you wait for 45 minutes or so it will really affect your appetite.

Well, I have been doing the injections twice a day since last Thursday 6/1/06 and everything is going good. I haven't had any of the nauseousness that others have described. I guess I'm fortunate. I feel like I have a rock in my stomach if I eat too much now, totally uncomfortable!

I got myself ALL WORKED up for nothing! I mean I faint at the thought of a needled going in me but I knew I had to do it so one morning I said forget it!!! I am doing this and that's that!!!
Stuck the needle in me and I was like is it in?!?!?!?!?!? And yup it was and now it's nothing, I inject myself approx. 1 inch form my belly button on either side. Good luck! So far it hadn't worke don my weight loss, but my BG are the best!
