Default Cramping in early pregnancy

Can anyone tell me their success stories of having lots of cramping in early pregnancy and now being at least 12 weeks or a baby to show for it??? I'm 4 weeks and some change and I'm having tons of cramping. I had a miscarriage about 7 months ago so I'm really worried.

thanks in advance

During my first pg I cramped so much for the first 8-10 weeks I used to run to the bathroom a few times a day to check for blood. I talking very strong, first day of af type cramps all day. I now have a very active 2 1/2 year old from that pg. It's very normal to cramp alot, as your body is adjusting to and growing to make room for the baby. My doctor told me cramping was very normal as long as it wasn't accompanied by heavy bleeding and clots. Light spotting is very normal during the first trimester too, I spotted for a few days from 14-17dpo during my current pg. Some woman spot their entire first trimester and have gone on to have a healthy baby. Congrats on your bfp!! Have a H&H 9 months!

YAY Isabelle- I'm so happy for your pg! (We were on the TTC#2 board together)

I had a TON of cramping with DS. I didn't know I was pg until 7 weeks and I just felt like AF was coming at any minute. I cramped until probably 12 weeks with that pg and he was a full-term completely healthy baby.

I actually didn't tell people I was pg with him until 20 wks b/c I kept thinking I was having a m/c with all of that cramping.

Congrats again and G/L to you!!!

I also had a lot of cramping. I was constantly running to the bathroom because I was convinced I was getting my period. It's completely normal. Oh, my boys are 3 and 21 months so everything worked out fine.

Cramping like AF is on it's way? That is what I felt like constantly. It started 2 hours after I got my BFP and I knew it was over. I jumped on here quickly and everyone reassured me it was normal. I got so used to it that when it stopped. I then got worried because I wasnt cramping anymore.

Yes, it feels just like af is coming. I know some cramping is normal but it seemed like everyone said "light" cramping on everything I'd read and this certainly isn't light!! I have no bleeding yet but I'm so guarded this time because of the m/c.

thank all you ladies so much for making me feel so much better!!!

Oh and I keep running to the bathroom to check if theres any spotting too!

This pregnancy I had such bad cramping from the very beginning, it lasted a long time. I even had spotting (which scared me!). I was fine and I am hopefully less than a week from having my daughter.

I am sorry about your loss. Congratulations on your new pregnancy. I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.

Isabelle-I guess I should have said that I did spot as well. So if you start spotting it isnt necessarily bad. I spotted the entire first month. It was due to low progesterone (increased it from 200 to 400 and it stopped almost immediately).

Glad we made you feel better. I can promise you there are LOTS more than have done this they just have posted. If you posted on the Mommy board lots would tell you it was normal.

cramping is one of the things I remember most about early pregnancy. I had cramps for probably 8 weeks. My doctor told me it was something to do with things changing down there- the body getting used to having something "foreign/new" in it. He also said as the placenta takes hold and forms a blood supply, it was normal to have some spotting I think up to 17-20ish weeks. Im now 29 weeks and doing great. Good luck to you!

I'm only about 6.5 weeks and I've had cramping since before I had my BFP. I also get little sharp pains, shooting in my sides. They never last long but man are they uncomfortable! I called my nurse because of this and because of some swelling I was having 'down there' and this is what she told me. As long as it's not severe and there's no spotting/bleeding, then just chalk it up to normal pregnancy.
