Default Cramps in feet

For the past year or so I've been having pain in my feet. It's not every day or anything. But once in awhile I will get like a charlie horse in my feet!! When it happens it hurts so bad! It will actually make my toes move, like the muscle is getting really tight. Last night it woke me at 3am and I had to walk it out. I originally thought it was from wearing heels because that's when it seemed to start, last Fall when I bought heeled boots. I only wear them mostly on weekends as I work from home. However, I haven't worn them all summer and am still having this problem. I'm wondering if it's from the fact I am in socks and sometimes bare feet alot at home (not enough support for my feet all day), or is it something else? I have eliminated dairy from my diet, but this did start long before I did that. The only reason I mention the dairy is because when I was pg I would get charlie horses in my calves and my ob told me to drink more milk and it worked! lol Anyhow, I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if so what did it turn out to be from? I have an appt with my gp later this week and will mention it to him. But wanted to ask here first. TIA.

Magnesium is the best thing you can take for cramps, both DH and myself swear by it

Just thought I'd share incase this helps someone else. I started taking 1 Caltrate Plus a day and the cramps have gotten much better! I might start taking 2 a day if they don't go away completely.
