My Mood: Points: 13,749.50 Bank: 2,151.05 Total Points: 15,900.55 | cramps and lower back pain I'm pretty new to this whole pregnancy thing, I'm only 14dpo. Since yesterday I've been having some bad cramping. I spoke with a nurse and she said cramping is normal as long as it is not sharp pain (possible miscarriage) or dominant on one side (possible ectopic) so I'm not not worried that I'm losing the baby or anything.
But damn, these feel like some of the worst AF cramps ever! The worst part is that my lower back is killing me! I'm even getting zingers through my back. Has anyone else gone through this in the beginning? If so, when does it subside?

I keep reading that it is normal as long as there is no bleeding, but I would love to hear about some Cysters experiences with this as well.

Points: 131.88 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 131.88 | I would get it checked out imm. I have had two ectopic pregnancies in the last year. First time had really bad cramps on my left side of stomach, lower back pain. The day before the cramps started I started to bleed. Had really bad lower back pain. I laid in bed for six hours hoping the pain would just go away. I got pg on birth control by missing one pill after being on it for 8 months. I had to go to the emergency room. With through 2 methotrexaite(can't spell) treatments, did not work, then I had the placenta taken out of my tube. By the time that happend I was 8 weeks. Second time no cramping. Bleeding with huge clots. Pregnancy hormones where going up but not enough. Took ultrasound, found out ectopic #2 again on left side. I had to be in surgery with in five hours and they took my left tube out. Now think I am pg again and worried. Taking a test tomorrow. If you are having really bad cramping on one side where almost unbearable I would go to the doctor. If it is ectopic your tube could burst. You could bleed in your stomach. Not trying to scare you cause that rarley happens but if keeps hurting and get worst, I had hot and cold sweats and could not even move. I would call your doctor for advice. |

My Mood: Points: 1,941.57 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,941.57 | I also have had a lot of cramping and the lower back pain early on. Every once in awhile I still have back pain. I have a bad back though, and I was expecting a lot of back pain. It is totally normal. And yes, the cramps are AF like-it sucks.

But even if you do bleed its not the end. I was having back pain, with cramping on one side... a few days later I was having red bleeding for 1/2 hr periods for a week. Baby is still here, not ectopic and other than being 5 days behind LMP calculations is doing just fine.

The day before I took the test, I totally thought AF was on the way. They went away around 5-6 weeks but then was replaced by round ligament pain, lol.

The nurse told me that if the cramps were mostly on just one side then I should come in to check for ectopic, but they were all over not just one side.
