I think I have noticed a correlation in the past, especially if I got the tampon in crooked or lopsided. But it wasn't enough pain to get me to use pads instead. Nor, was I certain enough that that was the cause of the cramping. Now I use the Diva cup though. No cramps.

I heard that tampons make you cramp more. I still try to wear them, but sometimes I just get super uncomfortable during the first day when my cramps are bad. I don't even know how to explain it - it's not painful, but I just feel like my body is trying to reject the tampon. So sometimes I have to take it out and use pads for a day.

During your period I think your cervix is lower and maybe the tampon puts pressure on it and hurts? I know because I feel the same thing. Try not pushing it in too too far and using a smaller size? (OB's aren't very long and they seem to work well!)

Cramps are mini contractions so it's like giving birth to a tiny baby...that's probably why it hurts. Also if you have clots frequently that could cause a problem too...the clots can't past which is also painful.

calmwaters...I have seen that Diva cup you are very happy with it?

Qween- I am happy with the Diva cup. It's a bit gross and takes some getting used to, I could use just one more hand. It's been 3 cycles now. I love it because it's there, never have to run out for some tampons or worry about supplies. All during my period I carry it with me, in my vajayjay! Over time, I realized that even on my heaviest days I only need to empty it twice a day, so it's nice I can go to work all day and just empty it in the privacy of home. It never leaks! Ever. I don't like it because it's kind of messy to empty and clean out and reinsert. But I have a feeling, that is because I'm just getting the hang of it.

Chelsae- Before Diva cup I was an exculsive OB user and still got the occasional cramping thing, I think from jamming it in sideways, KWIM when it's too dry and you have to cram it in there?

I get them too. A few days into my period, I can't even get the tampon in. It's like everything in there is closed up or something, so I have to switch to pads. I hate pads. They just dont feel as clean to me.

There is something about it because it is always with you...like you said. It would cut down on expense...but that gross factor..hrmmm I don't know if I could get used to that part. I will think more about it. Thank you much for answering.

Sure, those OB tampons are getting ridiculously expensive! The gross factor doesn't really gross me out as much as it's a pain due to messiness. I mean, it's no more icky than using a pad that you have to look at and all that messy jazz.

That is true. I'll think about it for sure.

I saw in your sig you are thinking about starting some herbs and minerals...do it.

Sorry to have hijacked your thread Minn!

Mommaking- It is comfy and can't feel it unless I don't get it in far enough. It seems so big but it is more comfortble than a tampon.

Calmwaters... Ha ha! Thank you, I've been wanting to use that

Does the Diva cup always get your hands yucky? I know what you mean about inserting a dry OB... It's like hammering a nail into wood!
