This was my first period since starting the Met (1700mg) about a month ago, and I had menstrual cramps so bad that they made me vomit. My family took me to an Urgent Care center they were so worried about me (we were on vacation) and once they ruled out an ectopic pregnancy, all they could tell me was to take some Advil. I was in bed for an entire day and was worthless the following 2 days because of crippling cramps in my lower left abdomen. On my flight home I thought I was going to pass out.

When I got back home my regular RE did an ultrasound to make sure it wasn't pain from a rupturing cyst or something, but everything looked fine and she, too, said it was probably just bad cramps.

Have any of you noticed a worsening of cramps after starting Met? I am terrified that this will be the way my cramps are from here on out, and I really won't be able to handle that. That was the worst pain of my entire life, and I am not a squeamish overreactor!

clomid cycle #1 (50mg) = bust
cycle #2 = bust (due to timing of re appt)
cycle #3 = IUI on 8/6 = bust
cycle #4 = IUI on 9/4 = bust
cycle #5 = too little follicle development/low estrogen on day 16 of cycle = cycle cancelled
cycle #6 = injectables (gonal-f @ 150, 225 + ovidrel trigger) = BFP on 12/9!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have only been on Met for over a month and yes my first period was really bad. I am hoping this is not what is going to take place every month. Not sure if I could take it.

I was on 2000mg of Met ER about 6 months ago and I have really bad cramp on it. I have cramps so bad that I can't move for 2 or 3 days. I stopped taking Met but now I am starting to take it Again due to needing to lose weight and become healthy. I think that a hot water bottle on my lower stomach helps the pain. But yes I have really bad cramps too. They almost kill me everytime I have them.

I just finished my first AF after starting taking Met. I never used to have any kind of cramps at all, this time I had some cramps, but nothing major. It was very managable, and only lasted approximately one evening, at the most one afternoon/evening.

Sorry you all are suffering from these painful cramps.
