Default Cravings?

Has anyone else noticed dramatic improvement in cravings? I've only taken a few doses and I think I can tell my cravings have gone down quite a bit...just wondering if maybe it's just a placebo effect...?

I've noticed the difference too! I've been on met for about a month now, and my cravings have gone down dramatically. I can go a few days now without stuffing my face with sugary foods.

when I was taking metaformin, my craving were reduced. Yet around my AF time, I have the same type of cravings. Metaformin did help.

At 25, my cravings were ruling my life! All I could think about was eating lots and lots of carbs - the pure sugary kind were the best. I would eat 100% carbs if I could.

Before long I had stacked on 25 pounds in just a few months. That was before I was diagnosed with pcos. I tired metformin but it just made me really dopey (brain fog x 100!). It didnt help me with the cravings and it didnt help me fast enough with my pcos symptoms. So when my obgyn started down the track that my pcos would lead to me becoming sterile at a yound age (prognosis was before 30), she started me on bcp to at least get me to have periods and be somewhat 'normal'...the cravings stayed on for about 3 months but then slowly diminshed. I started jogging more and within about 10 months, I had dropped about 30 pounds (I am 5'10" and now 150lbs). Once I was on the bcp with androgen blockers, the pounds practically melted off.

At 29 I stopped taking the bcp because it didnt really agree with my stomach, and I was experiencing killer headaches. I was constantly nauseous and ended up vomiting at least 2-3 times a cycle just because of the hormones.

A lot of the symptoms have returned, coarse hairs on my chin, breakouts, moodswings, irregular periods etc.....I have put on a couple of pounds since then, but I try to address my hunger with protein rich snacks like light tuna, boiled egg etc. (even though thats not what my body is telling me it wants). If I were to give into the mini cravings I have now for sugar, I know its a downward spiral...my symptoms now are ok, they are no where near as bad as they were when I was 25....I believe the carbs are to blame!

YES!! I am having the same positive side effect. Before, I could happily plop down on my couch with a giant Hershey bar and a jar of peanut butter and savor the whole thing. Now I barely even think about food, let alone sugar or chocolate. I've noticed a distinct drop in my cravings and appetite, although I think it's starting to wear off a bit. I've had a craving for chocolate for a couple of days now, but no where near as severe.

I've only been on met. for a week and a half now, (500 mg / day, upping to 1000 mg / day on Saturday) But, I've definitely noticed my sugar cravings going down. In fact, sweets don't really hold much appeal for me at all right now. And that used to be all I wanted. I was wondering if it was a placebo affect, but I wouldn't complain even if it was! It's good to see that others experience the same thing.
