Default Cravings And Alternatives

Okay so I admit I eat no where near like I would like to. Right now that is the least of my worries in all honestly. My focus is getting more active and trying to eliminate caffeine. That right there is my biggest problem. I am majorly addicted to sweet tea. I suck at making it or I would just make decaff tea. Anyways does anyone here have any suggestions on getting over it. My will power can be pretty horrid I am trying to work on it but sometimes it is so hard. Especially when my bf encourages it because he knows its something I enjoy and all he does is want me to be happy Anyone here eliminate caffeine from their diets? If so what did you do for the fatigue and headaches from it? Last time I tried to quit the headaches were evil evil beings. I have tried the tapering, cold turkey etc and it seems like I always end up back to drinking it. It has been one of my battles of wills and its driving me crazy and turning into an expensive endeavor.

I have given up caffeine, it's been about 4 months now... I was a Red Bull junkie, it was my drink of choice first thing in the morning, and then usually one in the afternoon and perhaps a couple of canned sodas, during the day. I initially gave it up because I was having trouble sleeping, battling a bit with insomnia (though I later figured out, it was due to my BCP) , not to mention the cost. It was hard to handle at first, it just didn't seem natural to not drink something when I woke up, so I switched to something that was just as sweet but caffine free, root beer in this case, diet I found was just as good as regular. Headaches would insue at first, but I usually just dealt with them... or if I couldn't I took an Excedrin, which has a bit of caffeine, with a tall drink of water.

I definitely feel better these days knowing I don't need caffeine to function, I've even given up soda all together!

I'll still have a cup of hot tea occasionally if I feel I need a little wake up. But I'm able to control my caffeine intake now without worrying about falling off the wagon all-together.

Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I gave up sodas awhile ago and ended up addicted to sweet tea instead lol. Tonight is my last night having it for awhile though, so we will see how it goes.
