Visualizations have been proven to help pple with cancer heal faster, i dont see any reason why it wouldnt help with pcos too.

I'd picture healthy ovaries, clear skin, etc, depending on what your problem areas are.

I do it all the time. It's second nature now. It's very simple. So many things that are eventually actualized start out as a simple idea. You *feed* that idea and it grows and you draw experiences, people, etc to you and voila!! It's just like people who come up with great inventions - those inventions started off as a little idea. Or artists who are suddenly inspired to create such & such.

I am constantly visualizing myself w/o so much facial hair, a little thinner & more muscular, & w/ *perfect* menstrual cycles. It does wonders for my mood. It keeps me hopeful that I WILL eventual realize that desire.

I don't just visualize and sit and wait though. The visualization sometimes inspires me to explore different avenues and topics and those in turn, often help me get closer to my goal.

It also keeps me from dwelling on all that I don't like about myself at present. It's not that my 'head is in the clouds' all the time. I realize what I'm dealing with right now, but I know that the 'future' is up in the air and that I can change things NOW and go in a different direction. At least I believe I can. "Creative visualization" is what helps my body go where my mind wants to be.

I don't know of any 'good sources' (books) on creative visualization. I've read alot of New Age, Health, & Self Help books and it was mentioned.... There's probably a good book on creative visualization alone.. If you want a book you can trying browsing the New Age or Self Help section of your local bookstore. See what grabs you.

Good Luck.

Default you are right

Thinking positively has helped me so much in our IF journey .. inspite of trying for 4 yrs and numerous failures I'm still not down .. didn't get any serious depression.
The only thing I'm looking for is something like a video or pictures which show the whole process .. follicles growning on ovaries .. releasing the egg.. sperms travelling up.. fertilisation .. implantation .. baby growing .. so if I keep seeing these visuals .. maybe it will help. I believe in mind and body connection.
If anyone has a source of any videos or picture please share.

thanks

I'm attaching a pic of a healthy ovary from this page . Just dont click the link--there's a pic of a drilled ovary there too.

I think it's helpful to visualize only positive images, and only in the present tense.

as in

I have a beautiful healthy ovary that ovulates regularly mid-cycle each month. **look at pic of healthy ovary or imagine it in your mind's eye or imagine the healthy ovary present in your own body**

or

I have beautiful, silky, smooth, clear skin that glows with youth and vitality.
**look at a beautiful pic of healthy skin or imagine it in your mind's eye or imagine how it feels on your face**

If you use future tense, the visualization may never manifest bc it's always something that could happen, some day, in the future, maybe.

It's also supposed to be helpful to do the same visualization every day for 30 days. It's said that it takes that long to make a life change. I also agree that it's important to use visualization as a complementary therapy and that it's important to also take action towards realizing our goals.

CREATIVE VISUALIZATION
No one becomes successful by accident. Motivational speaker Les Brown advises, "You must see your goals clearly and specifically before you can set out for them. Hold them in your mind until they become second nature." Certainly, visualization is an essential element of achieving success.

Visualization is a secret shared by top athletes, actors,
performers, and business leaders. It is used by almost all successful people. Visualization is mentally picturing an event before it happens, and seeing yourself successfully accomplishing the event. It is a powerful tool used to generate confidence, motivation, and faith.

Imagine if right now you could motivate yourself, and then keep
yourself motivated -- how much you could achieve? Visualization
creates energy, determination, and allows your creativity to generate new ideas to overcome possible obstacles. Vision creates motivation.

Vision creates persistence.

The first step in creating what you want is to determine exactly
what it is you want. Sounds simple, but it is not always so. For a
dream to become a goal, clarity and detail are required. It's not
enough just to have "an idea" of what we want. We need to define exactly what we want. The first step is to shape it, define it, visualize it.

CREATING A VISION
Once you have decided on a goal, close your eyes and imagine your desires as if they have already been obtained. Generate as many details as possible. Be clear and specific. See yourself
successfully achieving your goals. Create a vision of who you want to be and live in that picture as if it were already true. Use your five senses to bring life and excitement to your imagination. Rehearse your desired outcome many times in your mind before it actually happens. By doing this you program your subconscious allowing you to tap into its tremendous power. It will help you find a way to win even under the most difficult circumstances.

While creative visualization is thinking positively, it is much more
than wishful thinking. It is a mental process establishing a goal and then imagining the process of attaining that goal. Vision isn't
magic, it requires perseverance and patience, but it works. Stick
with it and creative visualization can be a useful tool to manifest
your dreams.

VISUALIZE SELF-ACCEPTANCE
Look into the nearest mirror. The person staring back at you is the only person responsible for your success. Cutting her down, or honing in on all her perceived faults will not motivate you into a successful person. Immediately stop all the mind chatter, take a deep breath and SMILE!
It's time to take a new look at yourself and begin creating a vision of success.

Find a moment when you are completely alone. Undress and get a good look at yourself in a full length mirror. Now close your eyes. Do you see a human being there? Or do you see a collection of different parts? Do the components consist of a fat stomach, imperfect skin, ugly thighs, or a big butt?

These thoughts are merely judgements you have made. If you look close enough you could find flaws and imperfections on every human body. Notice the people in your life when taken apart into pieces, are not attractive (who is?). But, as a whole, they are enchanting, striking, have a magnetic air, or you just feel good around them.

Begin creating a new vision of yourself by looking for something like this in your self image. Visualize a presence surrounding you, or a certain charm which draws others to you. Note that at some point in your life, you have already felt this. Life was going well, you were succeeding in some way, or you felt loved. See the person in the mirror surrounded by this kind of charismatic energy. Spend some time seeing it, drawing it into your body, and feeling it.

A vision is simply how we see ourselves. It is the running dialog
we have with ourselves and the way we feel about ourselves. Notice with the above mirror exercise that you are already using
visualization to create your current reality. Your current visions
(fat stomach, ugly thighs, big butt) motivate you to do what you are currently doing. You get what you expect of yourself. It's not a matter of getting a vision, it's a matter substituting the one you
already have with one that moves you forward towards your goal.

ENVISION!
Spend time each day imagining your ideal life. Envision the details of that life. Imagine you are living it now. Go through all your senses and notice what you imagine seeing, hearing, tasting, feeling, even smelling, with this new vision. Breathe deeply and easily as you do this, breathing life into your visualization. Close your eyes and visualize your ideal future now.

POSITIVE NOTES

I now create outstanding confidence by repeatedly rehearsing
in my mind and imagining the results I want in advance.

What I imagine I can do, I can do.

*I like the above post on creative visualization*

@jay ---> If you want a video on the process you MIGHT be able to find something at your local library. When I read your post, I had a H.S. sex ed (or was it bio?) flashback. I'm almost positive we had to watch something like that (ovary releasing, traveling, fertilization, zygote..etc..). Someone at your local library (or even a large bookstore) may be able to point you in the right direction. Or even someone at a local high school (bio teachers), or somewhere where they sell educational supplies, or a video store w/educational videos, or someplace online like http://www.half.ebay.com.

Good luck.

Im a master at this stuff. Here is something to think about. You don't have to image all the detail. The universe will fix the detail. You are supposed to image the end result. ( Is it a happy healthy baby? ) and the emotions you would feel. What I would do is picture myself sitting in a chair with a newborn and how happy and wonderful i feel doing this and how loving I feel toward the baby.
I have a great book on affirmations also. ( it works) It is called "Affirmations Your Passport to Happiness and it is by
Anne Marie Evers. Its a wonderful book.
Im using her weight loss affirmations now. I am having success.
