Cool At a CROSSROADS !!!

Hello all I am a newbie just diagnosed yesterday even though I think Ive had PCOS for years, at least I think that now that I know what it is, anyway I have a major propblem which may seem weird and/or vain to some and is very different from a majority of the women I have read about with PCOS. I want to control my PCOS and prevent the diabeties and all the other health problems but I don't want to change my apperance (other then losing weight), I have no problem looking like a dude, no I don't want to be a dude I just have looked and acted like one all my life, even before my ovaries worked, and now Im on Yaz (heavy doses - my testosterone was 3x normal)and I haven't seen the endo yet but my gyno is strongly recommending MET which I heard lowers testosterone and prevents the hair gorwth but I don't mind the hair growth, I dont want to lose the side burns and mustache they are a part of me a part of my look. I know my health is more important then anything but appearance is important as well or else why would women be trying to get rid of hair I'm trying to keep. I was just wondering if I'm the only Stud lesbian out there going through this turmoil, I feel like my WHOLE life is about to change not just my eating habits and excersice regiment. Suggestions? Advice?

Well, I don't feel the same way as you, but maybe I can offer a bright spot. When they interviewed the "pregnant man", he hadn't taken testosterone in over 2 years, but still sported a full beard, even while obviously pregnant, and subject to increased hormones. So unless you are using some method of hair removal, I don't think you will lose what is already there.

I would never say that looks don't matter, at least a little. We all have some standard we want to live up to. Yours is just different than mine. I hope you are able to achieve good health without changing parts of you that you like or accept.
