Default Crystal healing

Hey everyone!

I see alot of "christianity" threads here but I couldnt find one on crystal healing (nor in the alternative therapy threads)

I just wondered what peoples outlokk was on this subject? Has anyone tried it?

I use this type of healing myself to aid with digestion problems, confidence and to maintain a general positive attitude

How does it work? Have you ever tried reiki? I have only heard pieces of info on this, could you fill me in? I know the chances of it working are much better if you BELIEVE it will work, and I deffinitally think I'd like to try it.

I have a bunch of crystals and stones. I don't do anything "formal" with them. I have them around my room in different arrangements. I will sometimes have them with me if I'm meditating or doing reiki. I also carry certain stones with me during the day also. I really just do whatever my instincts say. (that's also how I choose stones....some practially "call" to me!)

If You are a Christian,Crystal healing is a new age spiritism practice, and is against the Christian faith. It is very dangerous spiritually and can evoke bringing evil spirits.Be very careful!

Im sorry, I dont mean to insult your faith but this is totally untrue. We are all entitled to our own beliefs

I dont have a belief system as in a religion, I am purely spiritual and believe that are purposes in life are to become as highly ascended spiritually through reincarnation and paths in life.

Crystals work entirely through vibrations and energies that already exist in our bodies and around us. They merely enhance our own healing capabilities and energies.

I feel crystals have had a very positive effect on my life, helping through some tough times when I had trouble with confidence and self esteem. I think they help me more mentally than a physical effect you can "see".

Crystals also have a soothing effect when I work with them when I meditate, I find meditation is essential to my wellbeing also in such a busy world we live in. I find my most useful crystal is Amber, which is believed to transform negative thoughts into positive.

It cant hurt to read up on the subject and then draw your own conclusions.

Hm...I wish I had some amber. Just haven't really come across any. It's sometimes hard to find just stones/crystals...not set into jewelry. However, I did come across a nice piece of rose quartz. About the size of a fist, and not polished/cut at all.

BTW, Syxx, I love the quote in your sig.

Hiya Hopeless!

It took quite a bit of searching to find a good quality piece of Amber, in the end I went to Germany and found some very friendly sellers over there. I have a piece drilled, polished and tied around my neck. Its one of the best buys Ive ever made.

Rose Quartz is a wonderful crystal, so relaxing. Especially in its raw form. I live near the town of Derby in England where they have mines especially for it so it comes raw quite cheap.

Thankyou so much for your comments on my sig.

There's only a couple shops here that sell stuff like this...and I haven't seen a piece I like yet. I do really want some amber though.

Another of my favorites...kyanite. I got a piece about a month ago. I saw it and knew it was meant for me! And, I have a really nice rutilated quartz.

If you haven't already seen it, there's a book called "Love is in the Earth" by Melody. (no last name) It tells all about metaphysical properties of stones, etc. Very good reference book.

Ive never been lucky enough to come across Kyanite. I hear this can also be hard to come by and expensive.

I havent heard of this book either, I'll look it up on Amazon, thanks for mentioning it friend

I am quite familiar with Crystals, and have "read up on the subject"Everyone does have a right to make up there own mind.Including my right to write what I said. From a Christian perspective using Crystals is not considered part of our faith. That does not mean I am telling u not to use them.Everyone is entitled to there own beliefs, just ans im entitled to state mine.Without debating,I would just like to mention that the claims your making about crystal healing are not scientifically substantial. So does it mean crystal healing is not true?,I am not saying that. But I am saying every story has two sides.and lets leave it at that, best of luck in your healing journey.

From a source on the web.

The New Age idea that crystals can harness and direct energy seems to be based upon a misunderstanding of one of the more curious characteristics of certain crystals, namely, that they produce an electrical charge when compressed. This is known as the piezoelectric effect and was discovered in 1880 by Pierre and Jacques Curie. . . . The piezoelectric effect, however, does not give crystals healing or protective power, despite the claims of those who use and sell crystals in New Age and neo-pagan occultist shops.4

Syxx - Kyanite can be relatively expensive, but not outrageous. It is fairly brittle/fragile though, so it's not really something you can carry around easily. I think it's very beautiful though. One of my favorites.

In case you hadn't found it yet:

Hopeless -Yes, Kyanite does had brittle properties. Its one of the reasons I havent bought it on my travels in fear of it breaking by the time Ive got it safely home.

I have a large piece of Selenite that was hard enough to transport and I believe Kyanite is imilar in its "layered" slate-like appearance.

Thankyou so much for the link to the book. It is now added to my "wish list" on Amazon. I'll save up for a bit and purchase it. I adore the cover! Very intriuging!

Selenite....Hm...I'm not familiar with that. I don't think I've ever seen it before. But yes, kyanite is sort of in layers/sheets...but not to the same extent as mica.

All this talk is making me want to go shopping for stones again!! I'd love to get some more malachite. Perhaps some moonstone....

Selenite is a silvery type of slate-like stone. It is highly attune with angels, the piece I own is wonderfully relaxing.

I always enjoy buying crystals, I try to tell myself I dont need anymore but they always stand out to me without me thinking about needing them Ive gone to the cash register and bought it LOL!

Malachite is a great stone too, one of the first I bought, along with Citrine. Moonstone is very powerful for us women, I think it can probably help us most with PCOS symptoms.

A strong favourite of mine is Labradorite, so beautiful to look at! Do you have a favourite?
