Question curious

I was just curious to know if it possible to have no hair loss with pcos. I don't really have any hair loss besides when I comb my hair in the mornings, but how many hairs are considered to be hair loss. I just wanted to know if it is a must to lose your hair.

Default Hair loss...

I have many of the symptoms of PCOS, but not hair loss (at least not yet!) I don't think it is a must, I think it just depends on the person. I am 24 and have had symptoms of PCOS since I was a teen. Others will post with more information/experiences of hair loss for you. Oh, and I see you are new, WELCOME! This is a site full of lots of great information and people. Jean

Default Hair loss - answers!

It's normal to lose 80-100 hairs/day. That seems like a lot, but it's really not as long as it's spread out over your head.

I do have hair loss, but it always grows back. It seems to be hormonal - I lose a lot in the few weeks before AF, then it stops for several weeks, cycle repeats (I get AF about every two months). My hair is thinner, but I don't have any bald spots. It is really annoying to always see baby hairs sprouting up all over the place - they're uncontrollable!

PCOS is a syndrome, which means that there is a cluster of symptoms that women may or may not have. In a disease, all symptoms would show up. So, you got the lucky side of the hair loss issue, that's all!

I don't really have hair loss, only when brushing my hair. It seems more than when others do it but it isn't noticeable thank god. I just get the unwanted hair, which I guess is worse as you can get rid of it, but you can't make your hair grow back if you have hair loss.

It has always puzzled me how hair loss and hair growth can be symptoms of the smae syndrome. Hormones huh!
