Default curious...soy and thyroid poll

Over the last several years much research has centered around the ingenstion of non-fermented soy products (tofu, soy milk, etc.) and its effect on the thyroid. Where do SoulCysters with hypothyroidism stand?

I don't need any more darn estrogen!!!! Studies show plant/synthetic hormones bind longer to the recepters than regular human hormones do, so plant estrogen is even worse for us than regular estrogen... those of us who are estrogen/androgen dominant DO NOT NEED ANY MORE ESTROGEN!!

I use soy isoflavones CD 3-7 to induce O. When I'm taking the capsules I'm careful to take it separately from my synthroid. I also avoid all other soy products for the rest of my cycle. All I know is I'm Oing regularly and my repeat TSH was 2.25 (in normal range).

I do not like any suy product. Very rearly I put soy-souce to the wok, but that`s it, so I haven`t done any research in this area :d But I am sure that nothing is good for you, if you eat or drink it too much, modesty is the way I try to go with any food.

I've been using alot of soy products. Soy lecithin, soy protein, soy cookies, and brownies.......soy butter...regular milk though.....fat free.

I am a diabetic as well...I'm not sure what this is doing to my body, but I feel much better with soy and carob than I do any other time. I should probably research more ...I'm not getting AF at all unless I take Provera, my Diabetes isn't in control (though I'm trying my hardest) Maybe theres a connection somewhere.

Soy sauce is fine. It's not fermented.

PS it is the consensus among my doctors and many others that a TSH should be around 1... any higher than 1.5 or so and you are not really optimised. Keep that in mind for the future...

I was given soy formula as a baby due to vomiting on breast milk and regular formula. My sis and mom have pcos too but ours are different there's is more of a pituitary dysfunction and mine is an IR issue. They didnt have the soy like I did, not sure if there is something to it or not. I dont have high estrogen, mine is actually kinda low but I avoid soy products since it is a weaker form that binds to the receptors, I need my natural estrogen to go there and be stronger to make it more normal.
