I really need to start cutting down on carbs again. I KNOW I felt better when I've done it before but I am rarely home so I almost never have the energy to cook. It's so easy to heat up a frozen piece of pizza you know?
I need some easy ideas to help. I can't cut it out entirely, I just know that won't work. Breakfast is really tough for me not to eat carbs.
I'm with you. I cut back on the carbs right before I got pregnant and started to see the weight come off. Since then, though, I've been right back into the high carb eating.
Breakfast is the worst for me. Toast with either jam or cheese spread. I'm not inclined to eat eggs every day, but I could do a low carb cereal, or some cooked oats. I just don't bother. It's like I'm on auto pilot in the mornings. I need a kickstart.

I follow the IR diet - if you look on the Diet & Exercise stickies you can get lots of information on it.
One of the hardest things for me was finding breakfast that wasn't based on carbs, but it has helped me to consider eating things that aren't "breakfast" food. I will have deli meat or hard boiled eggs, a veggie or turkey burger. Of course an omlette works but that is more traditional breakfast food
The Ir diet is more about limiting carbs (not eliminating) and making sure that you have protein with them - so oatmeal is a good choice - have some milk or yogurt with it.

I have the IR book. I just can't seem to get past breakfast. It's like I'm on autopilot or something.

I understand being on autopilot - especially as a mom of little one(s). If it helps, try to plan breakfast the night before and take it one day at a time. Old habits cannot be changed "overnight" just take baby steps.
Let me know how breakfast goes tomorrow.

Why not try a High Protein Shake for the mornings. I found that eating eggs for breakfast would make me feel sich the whole day. Try find a Whey Protein Fomula powder, its quick to make, usually they taste quite nice, and the fill you too!
