Default cycles after pregnancy loss- what to expect

Hi all,

I'm so sorry that we have to be here. I have PCOS and lost my baby Hillary at 23 weeks on August 3rd due to PPROM. We had tried for 2.5 years to conceive so this is just devastating.

Anyhow, I was wondering what you all have experienced as far as cycles after a birth or a loss like this. I am reading that sometimes cycles and fertility are better and then I read the opposite that it will be worse. I'd love some personal experiences here.

I seem to be having some strange hormonal stuff going on. Feeling very PMS like but no flow and migraine headaches. I also am having alot of PMS like back pain. I swear I thought I was just going to get my period but this has been going on for a few days now and there is no sign.

Thanks for any insight you can share.
Karen

Hiya Karen,

1st off I'm so sorry for your loss of Hillary.
I lost my twins a week after you on the 9th and 10th august at 22w3d, I had to have a d&c afterwards due to heavy blood loss and retained placental tissue so I don't know if my situation is exactly the same as yours.
I bled for 2 and 1/2 weeks after having the girls, stopped for just over a week and my period which was pretty light arrived 28 days after i went into labour and lasted 4-5 days having just stopped sunday night.

now I'm waiting to see if i ovulate and when, and go from there.

hope this helps

big hugs to you

Hela xxx

Hello
I lost my son due to IC (incompetent cervix) at 22wk3dys on July 19th/07. When I had a cycle, they used to be around 35days long. My AF showed up on September 5th. It was normal for me, 6 days - this is my first after my loss, and we are going to try again. If you read through the TTC thread (especially after a loss) you get so many different results. I don't really know if you'll find a trend.
Hope that helps! If you feel like it is coming, it probably is!

Hi,

I am so sorry for your loss.

Are you sure your uterus is void of any issues? The reason I ask is that I had experiences where there was still things going on in there despite the fact that I had delivered ... Have you gone back to your dr to be checked out (especially with the back pain your experiencing)? I don't want to worry you- but it's important to get checked. Hopefully it's just an AF trying to happen... but if it's not you'll want to know that too...

Again, sorry for your loss.

Karen

Pah! I spoke to soon and the red witch started up again this afternoon with a bit of a vengence ... (thought I was getting away a bit lightly)
