Question Cycles getting longer, HELP!!!!

Hi everyone
I have been on Metformin for 5 months and i got my first cycle after 2 months ( previously no cycles at all). My problem is that my cycles are getting longer and longer 33,38 and currently day 30 and still no O for this cycle. I am on 1500mg of met and wonder if I should be on 2000mg. Also wanted to know if it is still possible to get pregnant with long cycles, is there any problems with egg quality or is it just that you have fewer chances per year to get pregnant. Any info would be great. Thanks.

From what I have read you can get pregnant you may not ovulate every month though so it is really a hit or miss thing... you have fewer chances of it happening...
I would talk to your dr to see if they can adjust anything on the Met or maybe add another medication that will make it come on a normal basis..
mine finally started to come on a normal basis the last 3 months... it was going down in time to 22 days now I'm normal at 25... it may just take some time for your body to adjust..

I have gotten pregnant twice with metformin at 2000 mg a day. With the first pregnancy my cycle was 60-days long (ovulated on day 45), and the second pregnancy was a total surprise, but I think I had a 45-day cycle, ovulating on day 30. Therefore, you can get pregnancy with long cycles, and both babies are healthy (I'm at 20 weeks with my second). With and without metformin, I have never had "normal" (28-day) cycles. My shortest cycle was probably 45 days.

I am on 2000 mg Met XR and my cycles are 46 days long... my day 1 has only started on its own once while taking Met the past 9 months. My day 1 is normally forced by provera, so I don't think 30 something days is abnormal. It's great that you are starting them with the Met! Good luck!

This is my first month on met. its to hopefully make me ahve a normal cycle. my average cycle are 45 days.. sometimes 50-60. I got one freak one at 35 days. I've only used provera to induce, 1 & it was in jan after 64 days, and let me tell you i was sicker than a dog. I only took 3 days of the provera & had to stop.
Have any of you tried vitex & met together? I tried it last cycle ( nto on met) and WOW, I def ovulated I had tons of EW cm I normally didnt have. So i wonder if its safe to take vitex (otc) and metformin together? any one know?
