I've been having a pain in my lower belly right directly above the hairline (sorry if TMI). Its to the right of my belly button and then down to right before the hair starts and it's just one little spot. It doesn't hurt all the time and it's not excruciating, but I do notice it like if I'm washing dishes and my stomach presses up against the counter. I'm also having hip pain on that side which I thought was just a pulled muscle but it hasn't gone away in a few weeks. The stomach pain has only been happening for about a week. Is that roughly where you would feel pain from a cyst? Would a cyst cause hip pain? I'm getting a little worried

Any bleeding with the pain? Fever? Sick to the stomach? Anything making it much better or much worse?
It could be cyst pain, could be fibroids, could be something else. If the pain has been going on for weeks and it isn't getting better you could talk to your Dr about it. Everything to changing or starting a bcp or getting an u/s to see what the cause of the pain is could be done.
Most importantly try not to be afraid, call the Dr as soon as you can.

Thanks for the response. I only really notice it when something presses against my stomach. It's not bad pain, just noticeable- kinda sore feeling. On my last ultrasound about 2 months ago they said that I had 2 cysts on my left ovary that had fused together to make one big cyst. This pain though is more to the right and more centered, but then again I'm not exactly sure where on the abdomen your ovaries are located. I mean I know they are in that vacinity but I thought they were further out?

I have very simular pain nearly all the time on my right side and it cause terrible pain through my hip.
When i asked my doctor he said the chances that it was a cyst was the most likely but it is still best to be checked out because i had to be checked over for rummbling appendix.
Try not to worry and hope you see your doctor soon.
Brightest Blessings

I agree with serenity. You should get checked, just in case it's appendix related.

I had that sort of pain a couple of years ago. The doctor I had at the time wasn't my regular (the old one was on maternity leave) and just prodded around and said it felt okay.
Now that pain is back, but I also get a painful pulling sensation sometimes when i stand up to quickly. I've also noticed it if I get too into my nintendo Wii boxing game. I've often wondered if it was a cyst or just me being slack with my stomach muscles! lol. I was given some $$$ as a gift this weekend so I will use it to see my doctor next week and will ask.

I've been DX with hypothyroidism, high BP, anxiety disorder, costochondrichtis (spelling?) occasionally flares up, i have joint pain & shooting pains all over my body that have yet to be DX because i'm more concentrated on other things. I am going through right now being DX with gallbladder disease &/or something else GI related. Having some upper right quadrant pains that are pretty non stop. Seeing ENDO on monday to check if it's kidney related, seeing GI specialist to see if it's GI related. I'll let everyone know.

Update - went to the doc today and she said its a muscle issue and I'm off to physio next week.
She ruled out the organs because I have a 'clean' sexual history, my pap smear was fine, the pain is sudden and subsides quickly and she pointed out that it didn't hurt me to get out of hurt chair but it does hurt to get out of my couch. Thats because my couch is lower and I'm using the muscles more.
Although she did say if physio didn't work to come back and they'd investigate more but I can see her point about the muscle rather than organs.

Fairy 2323, I had some trouble with my right side for 2 years straight. Pain like your describe, sometimes worse than others, but it was always there and leaning to put on makeup or brush teeth made it hurt more. I had several ultrasounds that indicated a small cyst with everything else looking pretty normal.
I first had a laparoscopy surgery in Feb. 08 to look around. Dr. drained a tubal cyst then, and she also took the appendix at that time. I had had consistently elevated white blood cells (and platelets for a while) so there was some suspicion.
I felt better for a month, then the pain crept back. Within 6 wks of the first surg. I had ultrasound that showed 2 cysts on right ovary...one small fluid, and one larger blood-containing. They did the old "watch and wait" until June 08 when this all flared up in a big way, making my right pelvis and back incredibly painful and stiff. I required more than Aleve to get the pain down. Two weeks later I had surgery to take out the cysts. One had ruptured a little. I also elected to have the ovary and tube removed as well because i was tired of problems at the site. Don't worry though, usually drs. are able to save the ovary if cyst isn't overly huge.
I suspect the trouble cysts were there for a while, in the ovary, and they would wax and wane and change in size. That's why she couldn't spot them the first time. I feel pretty good now, still some tenderness deep inside the pelvis/back but so much better. I think I am still healing and it's almost 2 months later.
My advice: see your gynecologist and request ultrasound. That way they can track any changes if they see a cyst or anything else. I hope you get to the bottom of it soon. Take care.
