In april i noticed a small bump near my urethra. It was not hard and it felt like it had liquid in it. It also was not sore. I thought it would just go away but it hasnt and has just gotten bigger. At one time it did bust and it had blood in it. The blood almost had a darker purplish color to it. Here recently it has gotton even bigger and seems like it has spread. The area is kinda swollen and under the skin it feels kinda hard not like a knot but its more soft like liquid. There is one big soft bump and the rest you can feel kind of under it and to the side. I know its not an std because i havent had sex. What should i do? Im too embarassed to go to the doctor. Could changes in hormones cause this. sorry if this is tmi but i have been keeping all of this to myself and now its gotten bigger and i dont know what to do.
It could be a million things, but what you need to do is go and have it checked. No matter what it is if it is checked at least you'll be able to determine that it isnt dangerous. Right now you dont know for sure. It maybe just a PCOS related thing, Lord knows it seems like many of the things that we experience are but it is better to be sure. If you can and as soon as you can have it checked. Best

I agree, you should go to a dr. Do not be embarassed. If you are more comfortable go to your gyn first. It could be anything, and you will just worry until you find out for sure.
Good Luck!
Paige, I'd go see your doc. I know it's embarassing, but your doc has seen EVERYTHING! Nothing can shock him/her.
It could be a blocked gland, in which case you'll need surgery to fix it.

It get those as well. They will come back. They never seem to go away. I did get my OB to check it out. He said it was totally normal. I would still recommend you getting it checked just to be sure and to put you're mind at ease.
Feel better!!

I agree that seeing your doctor would be wise, but it might be a boil. Sometimes they can start small, and slowly get bigger and bigger. Hope this helps~

Pituitary surgery May 21, 2008- finally, the tumor is coming out!!!
I get these a lot - I once had 11 at the same time, I could hardly walk properly and I couldn't even sleep properly because of all the pain...once they get to a certain stage they do tend to get very sore and then burst, you get a load of pus and then dark blood. Sometimes they refill and come back again.
My dad was diabetic, and I remember saying to him about them and he said that he had suffered with boils and cysts all the time due to his high blood sugar. I often wonder if it's related.
Anyway, it took me ages to pluck up the courage and speak to my GP about it, but once I did, he was really sympathetic and asked why I'd left it so long! Now when I get them I go straight to my GP and I get a large dose of antibiotics, can't remember the name but it begins with 'F'.
Please go to your GP, its just a case of a quick exam, no pain. You want to get that bacteria out of your system don't you?
