I went to my gynaecologist on Friday to ask if I could go on fertility drugs to give my fertility a boost now that Met has regulated me (no I couldn't) and while I was there my gyn did a scan on my ovaries etc and discovered a cyst on the neck of my womb which he said is making the entrance to my womb narrow. He wanted to do a operation and put me under general anestetic to peirce it. My husband is unsure about this as he is worried about the risks involved with general anestetic and the absolute necessity of the operation. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought cysts cleared up on their own after a while (how long? Any ideas). The idea of an operation (even a small one like this) absolutely terrifys me!

A nabothian cyst? That's what I'm guessing this is. They're normal and come and go, but sometimes they get out of control and cause problems. It's nothing to worry about. Go ahead and have it done- you could always ask for an epidural, but going with whatever the doctor does most often in cases like this is probably the safest thing you can do. If it's their thing that they do, they've got lots of practice at it.
