Default Cysts, normal hormones and no IR

Hi there,

I'm new to this... so bare with me!

I am just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation? And, if so, what treatment has worked?

I've had irregular periods my whole life. I've always been very skinny (as in BMI of around 17-18).

We've been TTC#1 for about 7 mo now and I still haven't had a period (that's the longest I've ever gone). I've been to a gyno and had bloods etc. I have cysts on my ovaries but my insulin levels and hormones are all normal. I'm not sure what this all means? I've been put on clomoid (a v. low dose) but I haven't started that yet...

Thank you.

Hi there,
I wish I had good information for you, but I don't. I also am thin with cysts but normal glucose and androgen levels.

I can tell you that clomid gave me a big cyst, and now we have to figure out next steps.

Keep me posted on your progress.

Hi, I am in the same situation as you with the only symptoms of PCOS being irregular periods and polycystic ovaries. I am starting my first round of clomid next week at 50 mg.

Thanks. It is nice to know I'm not the only one!

Has anyone explained to you why you have cysts? I keep being told to put on weight... but I find it difficult to.

Hi - I might have some valuable info. for you gals. I'm also thin, no hormone issues (which makes us the lucky cysters), my only issue was irregular periods and cysts on my ovaries. I tried for 2 years to get preggo, I was misdiagnosed, given the wrong fert. drugs and wasted a lot of time and $. I finally found a dr. that gave me the right drug - injections (I used Menapur) at a high and steady dose and it brought me my 2 beautiful baby twin boys. Clomid is a waste of time for people like us, so is metformin (except when they give it with the injections). I did IUI 6 times and IVF....finally it worked. My babes are now 1, keep the faith..it doesn't feel like that long ago that I was praying for a miracle and it's possible with the right dr.
