Angry cysts while on bcp

hi ladies,
I'm new to all this have read this web site for about 3 yrs now but I feel like I really need to talk now. I've been on bcp yasmine for almost 6 months now. well I was complaining about a bad pain on my right side and Dr ordered ultra sound and it was a cyst. all they told me to do since it's a small one and I shouldn't be in any pain (HA!) is continue my bcp now Loestrin FE for 3 sold months no break and see how I feel. is this normal? I always thought that you shouldn't get cysts when your on bcp since you don't ovulate? this is first I've ever known of cysts on my ovaries and I'm sorry but this HURT!!! one night I was cleaning and bent over and sneezed. I thought I was going to have to go to hospital. it was horrible!!!

well I shuld be getting period in 2 days but I'm going to ocntinue the pills and now I feel cramping like I'm about to start.

You may have had the cyst from before you started the bcp & you are just now starting to feel pain from it. If the pain is that bad you should be able to get something from your doc for it - just make sure you describe very well exactly how bad the pain is for you. There have been some PCOS women who have had not so positive experiences with bcps for whatever reason so you'll have to decide for yourself if it's something you want to continue. Good luck ~ hope you find some relief!

I am on Yasmin as well and have had cysts while on it, they are less frequent and hurt (slightly) less but still have them. I just figure its my body being weird.

I was diagnosed with a cyst on my left ovary 3 weeks ago. I have been on the pill for years now and this is the first time I have ever had that problem since being on it. I do not feel pain. The only way that I knew that something was up was because I kept spotting off and on throughout the month, 3 months to be exact. I got so missed up as to when I was on my period that I missed up on the pills. I also, noticed my skin turned very oily which had been under control for years as well. Anyway, my dr. says that it happens. On the pill the cyst should not get more than 3 cmm. However, the "monster" that I have is unusual. I am supposed to have another ultrasound in 6 weeks and if it is still there she wants to remove it. Right, now I feel no pain, my spotting has all but disappeared, and my oily skin almost back to normal. If you are feeling pain then you need to have another ultrasound. Did you have that awful transvaginal ultrasound where you have to have a full bladder? I was told that that was the best way to show the full picture- so to speak.

All during high school I had ovarian cysts and I was on the BCP. I still got those darn things! They hurt too! It didnt matter how big/small they were. My left ovary side is and was always tender.
