Question Cytomel-twice a day

Does anyone else take their cytomel twice a day? I take my synthroid (75mcg) and a cytomel pill (5mcg) in the morning, and my endo wants me to take another cytomel pill in the afternoon/evening (for a total of 10 mcg/day). For me, this is very hard to do. I exercise in the evening and need to eat before I do this. I also take a multi-vitamin in the evening (to avoid interfering w/my morning meds). Sometimes I just plain forget to take this medicine in the evening!! I want to take all of my thyroid meds just once a day--in the morning.

If you are on cytomel, how is it administered>

Thanks!!

Cytomel is fast acting because T3 is fast acting. So, your doctor is right to have you take it twice a day. You might notice a distinct slump in your energy levels in the afternoon without it.

Thanks Shenacat. Should I be concerned about food intake and absorption with Cytomel? I've been trying to take this drug just as I do the Synthroid. Sometimes, this requires me to take my pill before bed.
