Question D&C

I'm pretty sure a D&C is the next step in treating my hyperplasia. Can anyone tell me what to expect? I tried a search on here, but didn't come up with too much. Anyone care to share their experience?

Default

I have had four D&C's and I haven't had too much of a problem. Some of the things that I went through after the surgery was really bad gas pains due to them bloating my stomach for the surgery. I felt really yucky afterwards for a few days but it wasn't unbearable.

My advice is to stay on top of the pain meds after the procedure because you will feel better. It is easier to avoid the pain if you already have the meds on board. I used mine for about two days afterwards and then felt better.

They won't release you until you pee after the surgery because they want to make sure that your bladder has waken up. I know some women have had a problem with this but I never did and I wanted to go as soon as I woke up. They wouldn't let me though because I had to rest. I think I remember that as being the most uncomfortable full feeling and after I peed the pressure was better.

I wish you the best and if there are any questions that I haven't answered please feel free to pm me or email me at sigmagirlie@yahoo.com. I haven't had the procedure since April 2002 so I'll try to remember to the best of my ability.
