Alright so I'm new to the forum although I've been lurking trying to find answers for a few months now...I have been having symptoms for a few years but my previous doctor said it was all in my head. My first visit with my new doctor he suspected PCOS and after a few more tests and an ultrasound I was diagnosed.
After the ultrasound showed a way too thick endo lining he started me on Provera and AF came with a vengeance...Went back just a few days after AF stopped and the lining is still thick. More ultrasounds and some weird procedure to check for polyps and I have to have a D&C.
SO here's my question...I was soooo shocked I totally spaced and didn't ask any of the necessary questions...anyone out there have any D&C advise?? I have no idea what to expect.
Thanks!! |

I know you didn't have a miscarriage, but you may want to check out the thread Coping with Pregnancy loss. They have information on there that describes what to expect for a D&C.
Good luck!

My Mood: Points: 409.21 Bank: 530.60 Total Points: 939.81 | Hi Jessie, new to the group, not to the symptoms myself. I just had a formal diagnosis before Thanksgiving, and a D&C for the same reasons 12/20. The procedure was fairly uneventful ( I was put into a twilight, so I don't remember anything) and from the time I was taken to the "prep" room to the time I was discharged was 3 hours. Recovery was very easy, I just took the day of the surgery to stay still, and relaxed. The following day with doctors permission, I was able to travel by car 300 miles for the holiday - the only stipulation was I had to get out every 2 hours and walk for at least 5 minutes to prevent blood clots. I have returned to all activities fine, except no intercourse for 4 weeks to prevent infection. DH & I saw the RE for the 1st visit on Friday, and now I still have to have a HSG Xray, which I would have tried to request when the D&C was performed. That is my only regret for not knowing ahead of time not to ask about. I hope this procedure is as uneventful for you as it was for me.
