Default D & C follow up appointment

Hi girls today I had my follow up appointment from my D & C on December 20th and it went good. She said that the pathology report confirmed the miscarriage but we don't know they why's of it (they didn't do any tissue testing). She said we made the right decision with the D & C because it could have taken a while.

She increased my dosage of Metformin. I am already taking 1500 MG per day and now I am going to be at 2250 MG per day. That’s a lot! She said she is hoping that by increasing it, I will ovulate on my own. We’ll see though. If I don’t start my period by 6 weeks from when I stopped bleeding (which will be Feb. 8th) to call them and they would prescribe me prometrium to bring on my period. She said that if I wasn’t pregnant after 2 cycles on my own then she would prescribe me Clomid to induce ovulation. I am hoping that we get pregnant on our own this time.

I really feel like I am ovulating right now, so I am going to start using ovulation kits for the next couple of days. Has anyone ever heard of increasing Metformin and ovulating on your own? I didn't ovulate on 1500 MG, but I will take anything right now to increase our chances.

Here's to a 2007 full of sticky BFP's for all of us!

It sounds like you have a good plan for TTC again. What did your OPKs tell you? I don't know about the effects of increases in Met. I only know that when I went from 0 Met on a 45 day anovulatory cycle to 1700 Met I had an ovulatory, normal cycle.

Keep us posted.

It's very possible that by increasing your dose will make you ovulate on your own. Like the pp mentioned I too went from zero met to just 1000mg per day and was pregnant within 3 months. So it could happen!! Good luck and BABYDUST!!!

Hello orca and allison. I took some ovulation tests last week (Thursday and Friday) Thursday afternoon, evening and Friday afternoon I got STRONG positives. I took a pregnancy test on Friday to see if I still had and of the HCG in my system and it was negative. Now I am in the 2 week wait. Hopefully we will get our **Sticky** soon!!
