Default D&C and TTC again

How long did you have to wait after your D&C or natural m/c to start TTC again?

I had a D&C around the time that I would have been 9 weeks. My HCG level at that time was 58,000. Does anyone know how fast this level will drop to negative?

I would love to be TTC again as soon as possible.

I had to wait almost 6 wks for my beta to go to zero. Then add another 3 cycles before we could start again. (((HUGS)))

Hi Tracy...

I'm not too sure how long you have to wait after a D&C before TTC again, but I thought it was interesting when my DR told me that we should wait another three cycles before TTC again....

I found it interesting because my ex's sister is an OB - who had a m/c while I was still together with him. I asked her if she was going to wait the three months and she said "No - I'll wait one cycle and make sure my levels are all down then try again, that's all you really have to wait no matter what they tell you"
NOW I don't know if that's REALLY TRUE or not, but she didn't get her medicine degree from the cereal box, that I know! She also ended up getting preg right after that and now has 2 children.

You know I'm sending you tons of baby dust and fingers and toes!!

I guess it depends on how far along you are...After the last m/c at 5 wks, my doctor told me to wait until my level was back to 0 and then to wait until after my first normal cycle. It took 2 months for AF to kick back and then we used protection for that month and started again the month after.

Thanks for the responses!

I wonder if the waiting 3 cycles after a m/c is similar to how some Dr's tell you you should wait 3 cycles after coming off BCPs to allow your cycles to regulate. My cycles have never been normal without meds and can last as long as 7 months. Hopefully my Dr will let me start TTC as soon as my levels drop down to zero. I guess once they get down to zero, then I'll be talking with my RE about TTC again.
