There are definitely a few people who know a lot about d-chiro-insolitol, I think the drug they administered to people in the study was 1500mg or close to that. Another form of it is myo-insolitol, which one person created a recipe for "PCOS Blaster Muffins" (I think it was Erin?) using buckwheat farinetta. Under the Alternative Remedies find her posting for the muffins, and I"m sure she'll be able to help you! And let us know what you find out!

For anyone that is interested, I seached with google and found this company who makes D-chiro-Inositol
NEW ZEALAND PHARMACEUTICALS LIMITED ( the are located just a few mile from were I live and are a legit company), so I e-mailed them and they said they do not sell to the general pubic, but gave me at e-mail address of some one who could help me.
Hi, I have the study here and they used 1200mg per day of d-chiro-inositol. I looked for a supplier on the internet a while ago, the only one I found was very expensive!
I hope this guy has it for a reasonable price, let us know when you find out!
I would be very interested in this as well. Who is this guy? How do we know this will be DCI and not the myo form? Please let us know what new info you find out...
I emailed the supplier but haven't gotten a reply yet. What city is the pharmaceutical company located in? I would really love to call to find out more info on the forms they have it in and from what they are making it. The best way to get it is from buckwheat and pill form is preferable.
I am DESPERATE to get this stuff and price will not be a deterrent for me! I was in the 9 month clinical trial and began cycling every month every 30 days and this continued for 6 months while I was on it. (I have approx one period per year without it, even on 2000 mg of metformin). I'm convinced that it is the answer for me and I am also convinced that I would have gotten pregnant on it if I could have stayed on it longer.

I contacted them and they did reply back.
They do not supply to the public, but gave me Jeffrey Hendricks contact e-mail, they said that is where they refer all inqueries such as mine on.
And I have not heard back from Jeffrey about a price yet.
I called the pharmaceutical company on New Zealand and they told me the same thing. I contacted the supplier and he wrote back. He said he could supply me and wantd to know how much I want. I'm waiting to hear back from him again. Thankyou for posting this info!!!!

This is really weird, because I started thinking about d chiro inositol again yesterday, and wondering whether it would help significantly or not, and remembering KittyKat's post, so today I did a search on it and found this exact company! I then came on here with the intention of posting about it and asking what people thought. Well, please keep us updated. I got the impression that you have to buy a minimum of 1 kg, but perhaps you don't. I hope to god it will be affordable. The only thing is that I'm worried it may not work for me and I will spend a lot of money-I'm not ttc so that aspect isn't going to swing it for me (even when Insmed discontinued it they said that there were less pregnancy losses for women on the drug.) So, waiting on tenterhooks, and trying not to get my hopes up for the umpteenth time...
Hi, I've started taking soy lecithin granules and a buckwheat hot breakfast just in case it might do some good - very recent so no news yet, and no AF.
But a comment on the D-Chiro Insolitol, I went to the site of the pharma company that was running clinical trials with Nestler, and found this press release stating that they'd discontinued research on the drug: http://www.insmed.com/ , then click on the "News" button, then search for "PCOS" and you'll find the link talking about INS-1, which was the trial product's name.
And lately I've also read that Nestler is doing trials on Metformin and Clomid, not INS-1.
Now, this is really confusing to me since so many women reported remarkable results with the stuff. Does anyone know the status of drug development of D-chiro Insolitol?

Trying to find an alternative to metformin/aldactone meds. Hoping to give D-Chiro Inositol a try.
Can anyone recommend good PCOS REs, nutritionists, naturopathic doctors in New York City? Thanks!
Basically after doing the first trials with d-chiro, the results were showing that the drug could help women with pcos. Then they did the 2nd round of clinical trials, and according to an email I got from Insmed, the results were not conclusive that the drug helped pcos women. He also said that due to budget constraints they had to eliminate 50% of their workforce, and stopped doing all research with d-chiro, and would let me know if there were any new studies coming up. I really really wish that they would continue doing the research, the women who participated in the study seemed to benefit from d-chiro, at least the ones who knew they were on it. Have you tried making the pcos blaster muffins that Erin posted awhile ago under recipes? I haven't tried them yet, but she eats 2 every day and they restored her cycles. Good luck and keep us posted if you find anything else!
Julie

Hi Julie, that's good info. I'll look into the muffins - the granules are pretty yuck! Thanks.
I've got another question - a lot of women talk about a D-chriro product coming out in 2004 or 2005. Do you know if there is any fact to this or if it is just old info from before the research was concluded (pre-2002)?
Best,
Rachelle
It would be cool, however, if we could find our own suppier...
