Sistahs~ I am soooo bad at spending time with God daily in prayer and devotions. I know that this is having a negative impact on my life and I want and NEED to get back in step with God. I am looking for an accountability partner in this area. Anyone up for the task? (No (earthly) pay and much prodding may be required)

LOL Laural! Well, I'd like to say I just need some gentle encouragement, but I think I need the prod!
Maybe we could just post here or by email, holding each other accountable for spending this time with God. Or if posting daily is too much, then once a week and maybe briefly sharing something that was meaningful to us in that week's devos? I'm open to ideas.
Jill, I think the more the merrier!

Every few days sounds good to me because I normally work 12 hours a day and by the time I get home, I don't always get a chance to look at the computer.
So, one of the things that I found very interesting the other night was finding the verses that "your body is a temple." I know that people say that all the time, but the actual verses are in I Corinthians.
I did it today! I read a Charles Stanley devotional and one of his points was we need to read the Bible so that we KNOW the promises of God and can call them to mind.
So I am trying to do the "Bible in a year" thing. Of course I am already 12 days behind, so I read 2 days worth today, Genesis 1-8. When was the last time I read that!?!
I may have been a strange kid, but I used to read the Bible all the time, just for fun. And I talked to God all the time, and made up little songs I'd sing at bedtime (drove my lil sis nuts). No wonder we are to have faith like a child! When you're a kid, you just live to praise God, when you're an adult, all the UNimportant stuff gets in the way!

I wanna play toooo!
I have slacked WAY off on my Bible Reading too!
I got a devotional journal for Christmas, but it is kinda hard to read. I have a Joyce Meyer devotional book and a women of Faith one somewhere.....maybe I should try to find that one adn start reading it again! Or did I give it away......I'm bad about that!!
OH some of us started a message board for Bible Study and such on MSN. It's http://groups.msn.com/CystersintheWord if any of you would like to visit. Kinda slow right now, but we are praying that it grows!
Hugs
Julie

I am trying to join your msn group but am having some trouble.
I always find Charles Stanley's books and sermons excellent. When I watch his sermons, I feel like he has been in my mind all week and then BAM!! Hits me on SUnday with all the crappola I have been decieving myself with.
Looking forward to more sistahs joining!
