Default Daily Lupron

I've been reading through a few threads about other's experiences with Lupron. I had a terrible time with the monthly injection - the first month was uneventful but the by the second week of the second month I was a mess. Depression set in and I couldn't stop crying. I told my doctor I wasn't going forward with another month.

Later, when I switched to another doctor with more experience with endometriosis and he wanted me to get back on Lupron before another laparotomy so that the endo would shrink some and be easier to remove. I was resistant. However, he offered up daily Lupron injections. I didn't know that daily injections existed. I had to give myself the shot... usually in my upper thigh. It was fairly painless injection - just subcutaneous - not in the muscle. I had no major side effects with the daily injection. I attribute it to not being hit with such a high dose at a single time.

I stayed on the daily injections for the 6 mos leading up to my surgery and then for 2 mos following the surgery - all so the ovaries wouldn't try to produce and release an egg and so that all the stitches in my ovaries would also heal.

Just wanted to share in case some of you might do better with a daily injection.

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this.

Do you have to have the monthly shot? Maybe ask about getting a prescription for the daily injection and having a nurse show you how to do it? The drug should do the same thing if given monthly or daily.
