Daily Mail - 15th August - Hair Loss and PCOS Articles
Did anyone see the 2 articles in the Daily Mail about hair loss and PCOS?
If so, what did you think about the PCOS article?

I am a pescatarian and on a low-calorie, healthy diet trying to incorporate as many low-GI and low-carb ideas as possible. I am also excercising - mainly by doing workout DVDs and walking our 3 dogs.

It was talking about a lady who had PCOS and managed to erradicate her symtoms through low-carbing, but she had not tried to conceive as she was single so they couldn't say if she had aided herself in that department. It was interesting, but I didn't particularly feel it was anything "new". I would have preferred to read about a selection of women with PCOS who suffered from differing symptoms as I know from on here that we are all affected differently. I also felt it made it sound like everything would go away if you low-carb, which is not true. I low-carbed last year and it did help my weight and sugar-fluctuation feelings, but it didn't get rid of my acne or my hair loss or make my periods regular etc... so I don't know!
The hair-loss article said: What do these 5 women have in common? And showed a picture of 5 ladies, then when you turned the page it showed the same picture without their wigs. They had 2 types of alopoecia and one of them had trichtillomania (sp?). I found it interesting... they were talking about their experiences of having hairloss/no hair.

i didn't see the thing on hair loss but i have had alopoecia since i was 7
I have just read it and my story is very similar to one of the girls in the article, except i have had some hair growth back - but it comes and goes. The added downfall is that i have hair everywhere elses because of the PCOS. One half of me is trying to get rid of hair, the other half is trying to get it back.
