 Daily sore throat, right side
Hello maybe somebody has had this too. I'm hypothyroid and treated with meds. The past week or so I've had sore throat and painful inner ear on right side only. I thought it may have been from a recent cold, but now I'm not sure.
Now I mention right side because everything over there(jaw/neck/tongue/throat/ear) has been giving me trouble on/off for the last year or more. It's not all flared up at once, but sometimes it's one or two things together. As far as my right-sided sore throat goes, I've noticed that it is worse in the afternoon and evening (I think that's because i talk all day, teaching), and with minimal pain first thing in the AM.
I had strep in October 2008, and took 10 days of amoxicillin for that and it got all better. I also was on augmentin 10 days in Dec. 2008 for bronchial infection. So I don't believe it to be a lingering strep infection. What I do think is that my thyroid could bring on the symptoms I listed. I'm seeing my endo. in about 1 1/2 wks for a routine appt. and I want her to take me seriously but I don't want to sound like I'm in a crazed panic about it. My thyroid dosage got changed a few wks ago because the TSH was rising. It's not like I sit around all day thinking about my gland, but I think it's screaming out for attention.
