I'm new to this and haven't been put on any medication.. I'm trying to control my blood sugar levels with NAC, Apple Cider Vinegar and low carb diet
My diet mainly consists of fish, eggs, vegetables but I do drink whole milk, eat greek yogurt with blueberries and eat feta cheese? is it OK to eat these things or should I stop? What about brown rice and buckwheat? Are they OK to consume?
Goddess.... eating all types of dairy should be done while on a low-carb diet and can be done safely as a diabetic. I am a pre-diabetic and have reactive hypoglycemia since I was 18. I am now on 500mg of Metformin XR because my blood sugar was starting to no longer respond to my diet as well as years ago. My morning numbers were still fine but I was rising above 140 after meals. Personally, I avoid milk because it has too many carbs so I instead drink Almond Breeze (almond milk) and use half-and half in my cereal for its lower carb and sugar count. I eat all types of cheese and yogurt (expect the high sugar types) Greek and sweetened with Splenda are perfect!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that all slow digesting carbs (or so called complex carbs) like whole wheat bread, brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat, flax seed, are excellent choices to replace your refined carbs (white). You still need to remember to keep your portions small of these things even though they are not refined because your blood sugar will still rise.
