She is very open to what you tell her and she listens. I have gone in with some suggestions and she was very receptive. I also feel that she tries to tailor a plan for you as an individual.
The only thing you have to keep in mind is that you will see the RE fellow more than Dr Wilson herself since it's a teaching hospital. I never had a problem with that because they (the fellows) have to consult with her before they tell you the next step anyway. Their IVF is very reasonable compared to other places. It was less than $10,00 (not including medicine)...but double check that. They (the staff) also don't push you into doing anything you don't want to do. I have done 3 rounds of inj and 1 IUI with Dr Wilson.
Where is Dr Chantilis? If that's the RE I am thinking of, my RE if OK recommended them (it's a husband/wife team, right) but I heard that they really shuttle people through. I'm not sure if that info was correct.

dr chantilis is at the mergot perot building at Presbyterian Hospital in dallas on walnut hill lane. They do shuttle people after the consultation. I felt rushed especially after dx. He dx me with PCOS, Endometrial Polyps, and Uterine Fibroids! I was shocked and was going to ask a few questions but i was shuttled fast. they are a husband and wife team. I couldnt even have my consultation which included an exam without my spouse being present. the only other problem I honestly had was when we were about to enter the exam room, dr chantilis had to ask the nurse to clean it! When I sat on the exam table I saw a hair (not mine) on the footstool! gross!! Thank god i wore socks. I am worried if he had to ask the nurse to clean the room before we entered how clean is the equipment being used on me. I am hoping they were busy and overwhelmed that day.
anyway I do like dr chantilis. I feel he dx me with the accurate dx. I like how he is honest. he doesnt sugar coat anything. I like that. he gave me a checklist of our steps to acquire. His nurses are nice and being a little overweight due to PCOS they didnt snob me which was a plus for me. My husband and I feel comfortable with him. we are probably going to stick with him. I just always like to have second opinions just be 100% accurate. sorry this is so long...
As far as dr wilson, i wouldnt mind RE fellows consulting. Better to have more than one and get dx right than just one and get dx wrong. i will check into costs. thanks for that info.
sliz,
i also looked into dr saleh. I loved the website and info. but i couldnt find any reviews on him and that makes me question. my husband and i are still talking about seeing dr saleh or dr wilson for our second opinion. if you hear anything about him please let me know. thanks

Dr Wilson also found that I had a uterine polyp. She gave us the choice to remove it BUT if I chose not to, then got pg, then mc again, she said I would definitely have to have it removed. It was right where the embryo would implant. So I had the hysteroscopy done in Dec. She also did quite a bit of testing even though I had had only 1 mc. She found antibodies that increase risk of mc so I am really glad she listened to all of my history and my family's history (that is what made her test for certain antibodies). I've been happy with her, the fellows, and the nurses for the most part..I am just getting a little frustrated with the whole ttc thing.
And the hair thing...is gross!

Points: 1,757.07 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,757.07 | REs in Dallas So far I have heard good things about the following docs:
Dr. Karen Lee (but I guess she works with Dr. Chantilis and they are married)?
Dr. Douglas (in plano) - heard his bedside manner is not great, but he has great staff and seems to get a lot of people pregnant
Dr. Brian Barnett - apparently ranked high nationally and heard both he and his staff are very good
Dr.Le and Dr. Haas - heard both docs are great and staff is great and more than one person recommended him (plus I believe they are more affordable).
Dr. Ellen Wilson - I guess you see a lot of residents working with her, but I guess with UTSW you can't do too bad....
I haven't heard too many wonderful things about Dr. Doody...
So far I think my top choices are Dr. Le, Dr. Wilson or Dr. Barnett - I will have to research them a bit more I think...
For me it's most important to have a doctor who listens (I do not want to be on an assembly line - not for what I will have to pay). I also want someone who is open to natural therapies and who spends time explaining things to me!
GL to everyone! |

Given the website, how come I can't find anyone who has used him? this makes me leary....
but if we need IVF (hoping and praying we don't) I would want to go to a place that offers shared risk (and I think they are one) |
