I waited about a year to see Dr. Bressler. Thank the Lord that in the time it took me to get an appointment, my company's insurance changed and it was one that he accepts!!! (Yea!!!)
He's no nonsense in a very nice way (good bedside manner) and actually is also a specialist in diabetic conditions. SO he knows ALL about IR and us PCOS women!! He's also handled some pretty complicated thyroid problems as well, so all you hypothyroids out there would be covered!
Maybe I'm so high on him because he's the first doctor that actually told me there was something wrong with me, and knew enough to figure it out and treat it. The last family practitioner said I was "perfectly normal".
I believe it was worth the long wait.
Another great thing about his office is that the lab is in the same building. No driving across town to a LabCorp office to get your blood work done!!
Hi Gretchen...nice to see someone out in Frisco...I'm actually in Las Colinas...Anyway...my parents are in McKinney...so I drive past you all the time!
Glad you were able to find a doc! Isn't that the best feeling?
I love my gyno and general prac...both in Las Colinas if anyone is in this area and in need.
I haven't met my Endo yet...but he is in Ft. Worth...so we shall see in a little over a month!

I see you two live in the DFW area. Im near Keller and looking for a great doc. I have been seeing Evelina Alcalen but, she really doesnt understand PCOS very well. I feel like she is giving me the run around. I had been on Metformin which continued to make me very sick for 2.5 months. I took myself off of it. She didnt even attempt to find another medication. I need a doc who knows what they are doing (as we all do). Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kim

I'm in Mesquite and saw Dr. Steven Dorfman and Presbyterian, Dallas last December. He was recommended by my primary doctor and was voted one of the best endocrinologists in Dallas magazine. His bedside manner is fair. He drew labs and diagnosed me as having PCOS without waiting for them to come back based on physical symptoms alone. My A1c came back at 7 and he sent me a copy of labs with a notation scribbled on the side that it appeared I had developed a mild case of DM and to take Metformin 500 mg twice a day. I wasn't too impressed, particularly since I have been anemic for over a year and that causes the 1Ac test to be inaccurate on the high side. It's good to know about the Dr. at Medical City because if I'm not any happier with mine after the next appointment, I am going to be looking for a different endo.

I stay in Mckinney and I saw Dr Alfred Rodriguez at the presybetarian hospital of Plano last year until I got my BFP. He is very nice and the best Dr I have ever met, he really knows his stuff and his staff is fantastic. They draw your blood in his office too and phone you with the result. I saw him between March and september last year, he put me on BCP and met before he got the result of my lab just because I told him my mum and two of my sibs are diabetic. I got a bfp the very month he asked me to stop it. He is a very good RE and very friendly too.
