I have a patch of like dark skin on my chest between my breasts - its been there for years. I didnt really take any notice of it because I didnt have any sort of effects from it, although I did go to the doctors once and was given a cream which didnt do any good.
A few months a go I noticed dark skin under my breasts too, again it doesnt worry me but sometimes it does get itchy..even just after a shower.
I have heard of girls with PCOS who have dark skin patches but never from between and under the breasts.
Could this be linked with PCOS or could it be something else? Does anyone else suffer from this?
I have this under my breasts and on my inner thighs....and actually it has to do with something that is connected with PCOS. Insulin Resistance....type 2 diabetes....and Diabetes.

I have itchy redish brown patches under and between my breast and on the back of my neck. I was thinking that it was do to moisture...I go to sleep with wet hair and my neck itches in the morning...but now I am thinking that it might be linked to my PCOS. Does anyone else have a doctor that just stuck them on Metformin and did not offer any other treatments and/or suggestions?
I have them too. Under my arms, on my neck, and between my legs. This is common when u have PCOS. ((((HUGS))))

I have these, too, mainly under my arms and on inner thighs. Two weeks ago my inner thigh got all inflamed and itchy and flaked. EEW. Is this related, too? I'm so glad that other people have these sort of questions!

I have these patches too, under my breasts, in my armpits, groin and back of my neck. I think very often when you have blood sugar problems it's a type of yeast infection that makes them flare up, or a skin condition called intertrigo. Mine are always worse about a week before my (infrequent) periods.
to cut down on the yeast....eat yogart...it's helps stop the growth. And I've found that using Gold Bond medicated powder stops the irritation for me.

Oh yeah, it has lots to do with PCOS. That's a major symptom I think. I used to have the patch on the back of my neck, it comes and goes just depends. Now that's I'm pregnant and have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes I developed them in my armpits and in between my breasts too and the one on my neck is getting worse, its actually almost going all the way around my neck. its horrible. I'm hoping that after I give birth and go back on met that it will get better.
Good luck to you!

I have the dark patches on my elbows, my neck, and my inner thighs. It is rather annoying. I try to wear shirts that cover it up, because it really bothers me. The real name for these patches of dark skin is Acanthosis Nigricans. You can look it up on google and get tons of results. If you find something that works, let us know! Good luck!
Ive got it on my armpits, I used to scrub so hard when I was younger, I thought they were sweat stains, I must of had the cleanest pits in the 5th grade
I am not diabetic or anything so are there any creams or something I could use to soothe it when it itches because it can get really bad.
Yesterday they were really itching so I thought if I cleanse it with some aniceptic it might cool it down a bit.....little did I know. As soon as I put this anticeptic on it started BURNING and STINGING...it was horrible. After about 5 minutes it cooled down.
It can itch sometimes when I come out the shower so I know that wont help. Is there anything that will?
I'm not diabetic either I am Insulin resistent and must have been for a really long time before I realized it, I've had those dark patches a lonnng time. My glucose has ALWAYS been normal when it's been checked, doesn't mean you don't have a probelm though.
