Hey girls, i have dark patches too - shows up more if im in the sun for a while. I know it sounds crazy but i have been using fake tan on the rest of me to blend the dark bits in and it makes them less noticeable.

I also have the dark patches... Tho it upsets me that im only now finding this information about it... When i got married 2 years ago i spent a month scrubbing my neck and armpits every night with satin hands from mary kay ( very scrubby sandy like soap) and a hard loofa, hubby had to help me even tho it made me cry from being so sore... had to put baby powder on after so i could sooth it a little bit... to think there really wasnt anything to do.. Never really helped me anyway... :-( Dont scrub till ur about to bleed like me..Bad idea! LOL

My Mom always used to tell me my neck was dirty and to go scrub it! Since I was like 10 or 11 I've had them on my neck and under arms. I used St Ives Apricot scrub, it seems to work a little bit, it worked alot on my underarms.

I have noticed that taking sugar out of my diet has DRAMATICALLY improved my skin. I am really loving it.

I have them too. The worst one though is right square in the middle of my forehead over the years it got bigger and darker almost half my forehead. But I have recently got my IR undercontrol (with DCI) and it is fading very rapidly. Such a relief...I've always felt like everyone is staring at my forehead wondering why I don't wash my face. Lol.

If you say dramatically, then I believe you! I'm going to attempt this and I know it's worth it for so many other reasons. Hopefully I can see some improvements in the following areas:
Forehead
Upper Lip
Chin
Neck (front and back)
Underarms
Knees, ankles, and knuckles
Groin

I will post back with my results in a month. Goodbye sugar...

Hi! Don't scurb your skin off...it's an internal thing. I've read that the dark patches are from too much insulin being produced in your body and it "pours" out onto your skin. Basically, your body cannot process the amount of sugar in your system and can't balance out the insulin...something of that sort.

I'm insulin resistant and if I eat white starchy carbs, sugary foods, and do not eat like a health nut, I'll get the AN (dark patches) on my neck, under arms, and inner thighs. Once I started going back on my strict diet of low carbs (whole wheat, brown rice), lean protein (fish, chicken), and fruits and vegetables. Absolutely NO sugary foods, no candy, no gum, etc. I noticed that the dark patches disappeared in 2 months. Oh, for me, drinking lots of green tea (brewed from tea bags) and lots and lots of water has helped with my skin overall.

It takes a lot of effort to follow a strict diet like that (for me at least). But I've slipped a few times and started eating the bad foods like burgers, pizza, sweets, then the patches came backfor sure!!

So for me, the patches disappear with a healthy diet and I'm not even on any medication. I hope this helped a little.

Yes!!! Taking all sugar out has definitely helped 100% for me!! It's hard a first, but once you feel better and like the way you look, it's so worth it!! If I crave sugar, it get it from fruit. No more cookies and junk food.

So I have heard about these dark patches. I understand what they are from. I am not sure if I have the same thing. I only have dark patches in one spot( groin) then my feet it's weird because it changes.. tops of my feet and up my legs to my knees.. I have a pigmentation. Do any of you have this besides like dark patches in creases?
