Stop plucking and start shaving -- it's the one method of hair removal that doesn't lead to the possibility of scarring and discoloration.

I don't know about that.. I used to pluck, and switched to shaving (I feel it was a big mistake) - my skin is worse then ever, and when I manage to pluck the "darkness" isn't nearly as bad as what shaving leaves behind. I realize with shaving, it's the shadow from the hair, and not actual pigmentation - but to the naked eye, it all looks the same.

Different people have different experiences, I guess. My hair is dark and my moustache and beard growth are both dark. As far as I can see, the Norelco claim to "lift and cut" with the result that the final level of the cut hair is under the surface of the skin seems to be borne out in practice and I don't really see any shadow in my own case. What I haven't quite worked out is why this doesn't result in ingrown hairs -- I've never had any ingrown hairs in the area that I shave (and my chin hair tends to be curly, if I let it grow for a week when we're on vacation). But it's not a problem, so I guess I can afford to go on in ignorance on that one :-). I have tried wet shaving and found it horrendously hard on my skin. And I've tried other makes of electric razor -- the only one I used for any significant period of time was a (men's) Braun which I used for a couple of years, but haven't found anything as gentle as the men's Norelcos.

When using the Tweeze (I have the big boi tweeze) I have found that you cant push to hard on the skin or it will cause a skin burn. When I first used this product, after I got over the intial sting, i found that i was pushing to hard on my face. Around an hour our so a dark patch started to form on my chin area. It was a burn, something like when you shave with a razor you get what is called a razor burn. But the tweeze burn was gone after a week or so. I did treat it with some proactive (good stuff) every night. I also use the proactive after I shave or tweeze to cut back on the razor bumps. But dont push so hard. I still have to use foundation to cover my dark spots. I have been shaving and plucking since I was 19 and I am 32 now. I guess I would rather have the spots which are possible to decoy than the beard. Got to love that PCOS! YIPPIE! I am African American and I look forward to summer since I get darker and that helps with the decoy, but has anyone thought of possible tanning to kinda decoy some of the dark spots?

Well I just use a regular ladies throw-away razor, so I imagine the Norelco would yeild better results. I rarely get ingrowns with shaving either. It's mostly plucking or waxing that bring ingrowns I think because the process sometimes pulls the hair away from it's natural direction for regrowth.
