 Dateline NBC
I hope some of you caught this tonight. They did this story about this woman who duped several couples into thinking she's picking them to adopt her child. It was really sad to see these couples in tears over this heartless woman scamming these people. From what I gathered the couples found her online and she strung them along until she got money from them, led them to believe she was going into labor and then disconnected her cell phone so they couldn't contact her. I haven't reached the point where adoption is a serious consideration but I just wanted to share this with any of you guys who didn't catch this Dateline tonight. As bad as I feel for these couples, it is incredibly naive to trust someone you found online. If this worked for anyone in the past, great but to save the hearache, it is with much sincerity that I say this...please make sure you are adopting through a licensed agency or attorney.
