I have known about my PCOS for many years, but have just started getting treatment... So here I am on day six, and I think I have a bit more energy since starting met. It could be that I just have more energy since I am on day seven of my antibiotics for treatment of strep throat, though, LOL.
I go see my Rheumatologist in May to see how my Lupus is doing, then in June we are going to start TTC.
Anyone else new to getting treatment, and planning to start TTC soon?
Laura
Hi there...I am not trying to conceive, but i have lupus and pcos, too. i've not met anyone else that has lupus and PCOS (though i'm sure there are women out there with both).
how are your symptoms w/ the lupus? i'm glad you're feeling better...whether it's the ABT for the strep doing it or the metformin.
unfortunately i had to stop my met because i can't work (disabled), and my insurance was terminated. i was denied all types of aid from the state too...i'm really bummed right now. anyway, i wish you luck with TTC, and nice to meet you!
I haven't ever been able to get a diagnosis because I have had pain but I think I have PCOS. No blood work shows it. Provera did, however after my lap in Oct they put me on met 1500 a day to start. I took the first week and I was so sick and so stiff. Made me sick to my stomach. So I figured that I needed to start out small. I starting taking one a day and it wasn't as bad. But it was still there. So I took half of one and I felt great! Everytime I try to increase, I will sleep for days!!!! I feel horrid and I feel so deydrated and stiff that I can't get of bed. I have expeirement with it a little and It is from the Metformin, no matter how much water I drink or not. So I am still just taking a really small dose. I am loosing a little weight with it. I feel great at the small dose. I can't seem to increase, my Dr. just says keep trying.. keep trying.. But is that normal for Metformin to make me feel that way? Has anyone else felt like this? If I do increase I feel groggy for days. So i'm really only taking 250 mg a day. any advise?
