By his mercy...thats great news. It must feel so good to actually have your body doing what its supposed to be doing.

I've been taking Met for about 3 weeks and just started DCI last week. I was about to go on clomid and then decided I wanted to try a few months of alternative meds with Met before going the route of the fertility drugs (did clomid once at 50 mg and didnt O).

I'll be getting blood work at the end of the month and i'll post my results since those are really so concrete to show if the meds and herbs are working and how well.

HI Ladies!

Been on DCI for almost 3 weeks now. Feeling pretty good, still have effects like high energy and minimal carb cravings. FF says I ovulated 2 weeks ago, but then again, FF always says I ovulate but bloodwork never confirms it. So, that's what is frustrating to me. I am religiously temping, but I can't really trust it I guess.

Anyway, herbsgirl, I have a question I'm hoping you can answer. I'm 150 lbs. right now, so about 70 kg. To take 20 mg/kg, I would have to take 1400 mg instead of the 1200 I am currently taking.

What would you think about alternating between 1200 and 1800 daily? Do you think it would hurt me to possibly get too much?

Thanks so much! And good luck to all you ladies ttc!!!

Cherish32- Alternating is a good idea. If you need 1400 mg per day, you could also figure it this way, by the week. If you need 1400 mg then x that by 7 (7 days in a week) and then divide that by 600 (mg in each pill) means you need 16.3 pills per week to average 1400 mg per day. I figured up if you did 3 pills and 2 pills every other day, that would be an average of 20 pills per week.

Actually, as far as getting too much, There is a study on D-chiro Inositol for 1500 mg DCI TWICE daily for PCOS women. Dr.Nestler sent me the download for that. But unfortuntly I cannot copy it, Im sure it has a copyright on it. The women in this study were taking 3,000 mg DCI per day and the average BMI was 36.

Unhappy

Ok so I'm on my 3rd day of DCI. Several hours after I took it the first day I started feeling really good. Happy, lots of energy. But that night I barely slept a wink. The 2nd day again felt awesome got lots of things done around the house which is very abnormal for me sadly. But again slept terrible. Even took a melatonin which usually helps but it just made me more tired and still unable to sleep. So now it's my 3rd day and I don't feel all that well because of lack of sleep. Have any of you had sleep issues while taking DCI? I do have periods every once in a while where I can't fall asleep and if I do I wake up all night long so I don't know if it's that or the DCI. Any suggestions?

The first couple weeks of taking it I recall sleeping less. It was like I just had too much energy and couldn't shut off my brain. My theory is my body was starting to use all the energy from the food I was eating and it didn't know what to do with it. Lol. Eventually though my body did readjust and I sleep better now than I ever have.

I contacted iherb.com and they said they would put a price break on the D-chiro Inositol next month!

Herbsgirl-You are the best! Thanks for responding so quickly. I think I will start upping my dosage....

Two more questions if you don't mind:

1) I have very high LH - 6:1 ratio when taken 7 dpo. do you know if vitex would help with this or be detrimental. I've heard both things - some people think vitex raises LH and I certainly don't want to do that!!! Any thoughts?

2) My P4 7 dpo is 8.9 (unmedicated cycle). I think this means ovulation is taking place but not strong enough??? Do you know of anything that might help with this?

Thanks, herbsgirl. You are so much more helpful than my dr.!!!

Cherish32..

Question 1... Someone else answered this question really well recently. Here is the link to it
http://www.soulcysters.net/1890028996-post12.html
Yes, I think vitex is a good supplement.

Question2... Yes, I know of a few things that might help the Progesterone levels, but the #1 thing to do is darken your bedroom. You are probably going What? !! Yup. By sleeping in the complete dark you can boost your progesterone levels, and even out your basal body temps. I put alot of links on this post.

http://www.soulcysters.net/1890028996-post12.html

Its called Lunaception, and it does work. My temps are evening out!

The next thing you can do is take at least 75-100 mg Vitamin B6 along with a B complex
B6 Boosts progesterone levels!

Hi Tara, I was not on any other supplements/drugs. I took DCI only for the past 3 months. I did make sure that I don't miss one pill and I always take it in the morning when I first get up.

Does anyone out there took DCI during pregnancy? My husband and I are having very difficult time in deciding whether I should continue take DCI throughout the pregnancy (to maybe help prevent miscarriage). Does anyone think DCI may be harmful to the baby?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Crystal

Herbsgirl: For the progesterone level boost would u take B6 all the time or only during the luteal phase? I just had a 9 day luteal phase Still waiting to hear from my Dr. on my lab results. I cant believe sleeping in a dark room makes a difference! I sleep right next to the window and my curtains suck as far as blocking sun goes. Now a reason to get new ones!! Thanks!
