Default De-tox any help?

Today is the second day of a de-tox program for me.It's pretty rough - only whole foods - no dairy, no meat, no eggs, no flour - just fruit, veggies, nuts etc. I have done it before and it certainly felt good after a while. For now I have a screaming headache that seems to be a part of the de-tox program.

Has anyone seen any linkage with de-tox and fertility with PCOS? I am a thin cyster, using Dong Quai, Flaxseed Oil, Bee Pollen adn Folate as supplements. I am blessed with regular (albeit light) AF and have conceived (and lost) one child naturally. I thought a de-tox couldn't hurt. Any advice to the contrary?

The flaxseed oil does help my skin and hair. I am not aware of what the hell the Dong Qaui is doing, since I have only been taking it for 3 weeks - I guess this next Af will tell what effect it might have. The Bee Pollen is just a concession to trying something new for a change. I am a healthy eater, but I am partial to some junk food - probably twice a week, so I thiknk a de-tox might be good for me. I am about to ovulate tomorrow (I think).

Any opinions?

Thanks in advance

Talking Hi Megan!

Megan,

Sorry I can't answer any of your questions. I can hardly wait to read of your results. I started a parasite cleanse today so that I can do a liver cleanse later in the month.

I wish you luck with your de-tox!

Default Short update on detox

Hi Guys

thanks for replying! I don't know what a parasite cleanse is? Can you enlighten me?

Tuesday was pretty rough, with the headache and stomach pains and a lot of quality time spent near the bathroom, but I got through it. Today, I feel like a million dollars! I have been drinking 3 litres of water a day as well, and took out salt and sugar so that I only eat whole foods. My ovulation was about a day late, but that's nothing new. My EWCM is good and abundant. My skin is looking good and (tmi) I am having about 3 good BMs a day. I have energy to burn and now I remember why I did the de-tox last time.

So, I am ovulating now and we are doing our best to make the most of that. I'll let you know how it goes. Meantime, good luck with your own efforts - it really is worth all the suffering for the first few days!

I did a detox 4 years ago, the purpose then was to break my 2L or more a day diet coke habit. I was terribly sick for the first 2 days, it got better, then I felt great. I have no desire for the stuff, I don't even like the taste anymore.

I think it's a great idea at least once a year, I've heard it suggested we shoulc do a cleanse when the seasons change...

I"m so glad to hear people's detox experiences have been great. It really encourages me. The program I plan to follow is from the book "The 14 Day Herbal Cleanse". I can't recommend this book enough. She talks about how to use all your sources of elimination to get rid of toxins, encourages light exercise, and hydrotherapy (basically nice warm smelly baths). I can't wait to try it!

Default Highly recommended

Now that I am over the 'hump', I remember why I subject myself to this. I feel great. I lost a few kilos (which wasn't necessary but never hurts) and my skin is clear. All the pimples on my back have cleared and my skin looks good. Aisha, my detox is simply. I simply take all processed foods out of my diet. No salt, sugar, meat, dairy, wheat. No preservatives or additives of any sort. Eat what's left on the menu (no eggs either). Drink 3 litres of water a day. Do this for 4 weeks. Stand by for some cleansing of the liver and bowel. Good for you!!

Good luck with all your cleanses

This is the product and plan that I used, and a number of friends have tried it since.

Good luck!
