Default Dealing with side effects?

I would love to hear how long most have had to deal with side effects after being started on depression meds and if they did indeed go away after a time of taking it? I just began Citalopram (celexa) today and have had some light headedness, nausea, and not sure what else is other stuff and what is from the meds. I have spent years with depression, most years were lighter amounts and other times I used counseling and herbs as I began to see where I was headed. This time I let things get too far and gave in, deciding to try going to the docs and getting meds along with counseling. I am just really hating taking the meds route and the side effects don't make the decision any easier. I would love to hear from others on what to expect.

Hey! I was on Celexa. I had nausea for about a week. Most the little side effects go away by 2-4 weeks. But the sexual dysfunctional and vivid dreams never faded. I ended up switching because of that.

I took Celexa for a while--I tend to get those sort of symptoms (light headness, an airy feeling that's hard to describe,...) whenever I go on or off an SSRI--they go away as soon as my brain settles out or something (usually only a couple days)

I was on Lexapro but I remember it taking me about 2 to 4 weeks to get over the side effects. It will get better!!!
